Greer, Anton Lundell and Carter Verhaeghe found the back of the net. Rookie Mike Benning, Evan Rodrigues and Sam Bennett collected two helpers apiece ...

Matvei Michkov has statement game in Flyers’ shootout win over Kings

At the end of Thursday evening, Matvei Michkov buried a shot behind Kings netminder Darcy Kuemper that few would’ve had a chance of stopping. He did a quiet celebration resembling a vintage Danny Briere, but knew the Flyers at least could live to fight another day. The Philadelphia Flyers winger then scored the shootout-deciding goal that gave his team the required two points . Considering just how hard he got rocked by Kings defenseman Drew Doughty in the third period, it was incredible that ...

Flyers need to target top KHL free agent Vitali Pinchuk this offseason

It’s no secret that the Philadelphia Flyers need help at the center position. It’s maybe the loudest thing that the entire fan base has been screaming about for this entire decade. While they have spent several high-end assets trying to address it, what if there was someone that fits the team almost too well available for absolutely free? Vitali Pinchuk is the top KHL free agent this summer and should sign with an NHL team before next season to start his pro career in North America. On pa...

Weird Islanders: The Podcast! – Episode 83 – Vladimir Orszagh (with guest Alex Daugherty)

Friend and Predators reporter Alex Daugherty is back to talk about Vladimir Orszagh, a Slovakian import who was undervalued as an Islander but was instrumental to establishing Nashville’s – and Alex’s – love for hockey. The late 1990’s were a terrible time for the Islanders. The loses were many and prospects had little support in […]

Investigating the ‘curious’ potential market for Ryan Shea

Ryan Shea is such an unassuming player on the ice that in a way it’s sadly fitting that his breakout season has been overshadowed by multiple teammates taking up more of the spotlight. The Penguins have gotten plenty of positive surprises this season, starting with 18-year old Ben Kindel’s steady amazing play. Add in a […]

“We didn’t get away from our system and structure, and that’s what kept us in it. We just chipped away.
