Chicago Blackhawks fans will extend a warm welcome on Monday night to Winnipeg Jets forward Jonathan Toews, a man who was once affectionately known by this fan base as “Captain Serious” or “Tazer.” The third overall pick in the 2006 NHL Draft class, Toews teamed with the 2007 draft’s overall #1 pick, Patrick Kane, to […]

The Chicago Blackhawks fell 3-1 to the Calgary Flames in a game on Thursday night that was effectively decided early, with all but one of the scoring coming before the midway point of the first period.
The Blackhawks struck first, opening the scoring just 2:44 into the game. Colton Dach worked the puck to Nick Foligno, who snapped a wrist shot past Devin Cooley to give Chicago an early 1-0 lead.

If you bet the over tonight, the first 3:14 of the game probably had you feeling pretty good. The Blackhawks grabbed an early lead, only to see Calgary answer with a power play goal 36 seconds later. Unfortunately, less than three minutes later the Flames scored another special teams goal — this time, a short-handed goal from their captain, Mikael Backlund. Calgary took a 2-1 lead to the room after 20 minutes.
The parade to the penalty boxes continued in the second period. After 40 minute...

The Chicago Blackhawks have a slew of pending unrestricted free agents on their roster (six, to be exact), and we can expect to see them sell off a number of them. But not all. The list looks like this: Nick Foligno Jason Dickinson Ilya Mikheyev Connor Murphy Sam Lafferty Matt Grzelcyk "There's interest in these players, and there are teams interested to find out who's available," said insider David Pagnotta on the DFO Rundown . He says at least one of those names is more likely to ...

The Blackhawks are (hopefully, knock on wood) over their illness situation and ready to skate a full, healthy game tonight against a Calgary Flames squad that comes in 7-16-2 on the road. They’re mentioned as sellers right now as frequently as the Blackhawks were the past few years. This is a good opportunity for the Hawks to pick up a game.

The Chicago Blackhawks host the Calgary Flames on Thursday night at the United Center, hoping to get back in the win column as the flu bug that’s ripped through the locker room appears to be winding down.
This season has largely gone sideways for the Flames, who enter the midpoint of the year sitting 30th in the league by points percentage (.457) and looking every bit like a team stuck in neutral. On paper, they look mostly average — the Flames own 51.01 percent of shot attempts (12th in ...

Earlier this week, Darren Dreger reported the now rebuilding Vancouver Canucks are now actually potentially listening to calls on center Elias Pettersson . The 27-year-old “star” is signed to a massive contract that carries an $11.6 million cap hit through the 2031-32 season.
He put up a career high 102 points during the 2022-23 season, but has seen his production go down in the subsequent seasons. He appeared in only 64 games and scored only 15 goals last year.
