The Carolina Hurricanes will be without a core player for the start of the 2026-27 season. Winger Seth Jarvis has been placed on the injured non-roster list per NHL.com’s Walt Ruff. The Carolina Hurricanes announced Friday the team signed goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov to a two-year contract extension that will carry an average annual value of $3.95 million. According to a news release shared by Hurricanes, Kochetkov will earn a salary of $2.4 million with a $1.5-million signing bonus in 2027-28, then earn a $3-million salary with a $1-million bonus in 2028-29. “Pyotr is an incredibly talented goalie whose aggressive style fits our team very well,” Hurricanes general manager ...
