A version of this story ran in 2021 on the anniversary date of this game. I repost it here, lightly edited, with some added notes on Dave Rosello’s career. Dave (sometimes called “Davey”) Rosello is a footnote in Cubs history. He played six years for the Cubs, mostly as a backup middle infielder, and batted […]
The Los Angeles Rams haven’t gotten as much media attention in 2025, despite sitting at 6-2 entering the 49ers matchup. L.A. is best positioned to advance to its third Super Bowl under Sean McVay, something that ESPN predicted in a recent article. In ESPN’s 2025 NFL midseason predictions, reporter Lindsey Thiry anticipates a Rams’ trip […]
Who had the most impressive win in a week full of tomato cans? It’s the 12 Month Rap Up—Rap Rap Rap Up! Most Impressive Win No one. The highest-rated team that a Big Ten team faced in the season-openers was Hawai’i (KP 103), and Oregon nearly lost to them—most on that soon. The only other […]
The Philadelphia 76ers told reporters at practice on Friday that Paul George would be meeting with doctors over this upcoming weekend to assess his recovery and that the next steps for the forward would be determined from there. George has been sidelined to start the 2025-26 season after undergoing an arthroscopic procedure on his left […]

Our resident A10 reporter, Riley Frain, is bringing you a weekly notebook this season to recap all the latest news […]

5-Star Guard Austin Goosby’s commitment is coming to a close as he announced a final 4 of BYU, Texas, Baylor, and Duke. He will make his announcement November 14, during the November 12-19 early signing period. BYU offered Goosby nearly one year ago and has made him a top priority since. Goosby is the best […]
It’s another week with the opponent of the Los Angeles Rams having some uncertainty at the quarterback position. Through the first eight games of the season, the Rams have had the benefit of facing two backup quarterbacks and two rookies. In three of those games, the player under center wasn’t the same player who was […]
From the moment the Lakers traded for Luka Dončić, this franchise became his. However, it was challenging to establish that, given that he was acquired right in the middle of the NBA season. Now that he has a full season in a Lakers uniform, we are seeing his leadership more and more. In the summer, […]
Well it’s Friday afternoon so it’s time to lay it all out there. Can Purdue pull off the upset of the college football season and take down Ohio State? An Ohio State team that is currently #1 in the country mind you. Well, I asked the staff their thoughts. Ledman (8-1): If you listened to […]
The No. 24 Wisconsin Badgers are back in action on Friday to take on the Northern Illinois Huskies at the Kohl Center. They’re coming off a big 96-64 victory over the Campbell Fighting Camels, where they finished things off on a 29-2 run to secure the blowout win. John Blackwell was the star in that […]

The Winnipeg Jets ( 9-4-0 ) will continue their road trip with a visit to the San Jose Sharks ( 5-6-3 ) on Friday night ( 9 pm Central start ). The trip didn’t start off great as the True North offense dried up, allowing the Los Angeles Kings to shut out our club for the second time this year. Interestingly enough, the Sharks will be coming in off a big 6-1 victory over the Seattle Kraken, the other NHL team that has blanked the Jets this season.
Winnipeg’s leading scorers are hardly surp...
After just one win in their last seven games, the pressure is starting to mount on David Moyes. Everton have looked very limited and pretty easy to beat as the season has progressed. The manager’s rigidity on his squad selections and obstinance in changing formations or tactics has become very prominent in recent weeks, and […]

Welcome back to another very sane, not-at-all-prisoner of the moment edition of “You’re Nuts,” where our basketball writers debate a basketball or not-at-all basketball topic from opposite points of view. Ohio State finally played a real basketball game this week that counts towards their record. The good – Ohio State won the basketball game. The […]

James Wood is locked into left field for the Nats, as he is the club’s brightest young star and […]
Buffalo Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff has announced that defenseman Rasmus Dahlin will be taking a temporary leave of absence from the team. "Rasmus will be taking a temporary leave of absence to deal with a personal matter back in Sweden," Ruff said, as shared by the Sabres' official X account. "I will say this, he said everything is okay, and through this he's got the full support by our team." While Dahlin is taking this leave of absence, it is at least good to hear that Dahlin told Ruff tha...

Kam Williams was the talk of the town in the summer, with some even floating first-round NBA buzz. He came from Tulane, where he averaged 9 points on 48% shooting, 41% from 3, and 4.5 rebounds in 32 minutes. His numbers were expected to explode in Mark Pope’s modern offense, which, to be fair, hasn’t looked […]
Collin Chandler’s highlight-reel dunk against Nicholls State earned him shoutouts from LeBron James and Lil Wayne, but Mark Pope said the play was the result of a mature, veteran mindset. Pope said he spoke to Chandler after the game, who was frustrated with his 0-for-3 start from deep and sitting for a long stretch. “What […]
Kansas had its way with Green Bay in the season opener. Now it’s time to face a real test, with a road trip to Chapel Hill, to face North Carolina. Kansas has recorded five straight overall wins over UNC, though that really has no impact on how this one will unfold. The game is at […]
