The 44-30 loss to the Detroit Lions last week hasn’t mathematically eliminated the Dallas Cowboys from the playoffs, but the chances of sneaking in are extremely slim. With the 2025 NFL season all but over for them, it might be time to start focusing a little more on the future of the organization. That means […]
Last Monday, we averaged out our game-by-game player grade for each Buck over the season’s first 21 contests, which is roughly 25% of the year. Within that, we also gave readers a chance to give their own grades. Below are the results of that polling, with the Brew Hoop grade listed in parentheses. Giannis Antetokounmpo […]
Atlanta has made a move just before Week 15 to add to a moribund receiving corps, claiming former Green Bay Packer Malik Heath off waivers. In a corresponding move, they released lightly used safety Jordan Fuller. The 25-year-old Heath is an interesting flier for a team as receiver-starved as Atlanta. The former undrafted free agent […]
The Buffalo Bills took down quarterback Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 14, and now turn their attention to perhaps the most important regular-season game of their season in Week 15. Up next is an AFC East rematch with the now-mighty New England Patriots. It’s a game that carries a lot of playoff […]
To make room for the addition of receiver Jayden Reed from the injured reserve, the Green Bay Packers waived receiver Malik Heath, who had been with the team for three years, last week. The Packers likely wanted Heath to return to the team on the practice squad, considering his experience with the squad, but that […]
After a disappointing end to the season, Rutgers football is gearing up for the transfer portal to plug some of the gaps on the roster. Four Scarlet Knights have already declared that they will enter the transfer portal. DE Jordan Walker, RB Samuel Brown V, RB CJ Campbell, and WR/KR Dane Partridge. This article will […]
Matt Campbell met the State College media for the first time on Monday afternoon. We will work on a better name and see what words stand out the most over the coming years. But, as always, you can read the full transcript with Campbell, AD Pat Kraft, and university president Neeli Bendapudi HERE. Or, read […]
According to head coach Shane Steichen, Indianapolis Colts quarterback Daniel Jones will undergo season-ending surgery on his torn Achiles within the week—among other injury updates (per ESPN’s Stephen Holder): However, the new injury developments are that rookie quarterback Riley Leonard, who filled in relief of Jones after the first quarter of Sunday’s loss against the […]
The Kansas City Chiefs lost to the Houston Texans by a score of 20-10 in Week 14. Let’s look at how the Chiefs used their players in this game: Starters (offensive): WR Xavier Worthy, WR JuJu Smith-Schuster, TE Travis Kelce, LT Wanya Morris, LG Kingsley Suamataia, C Creed Humphrey, RG Mike Caliendo, RT Jaylon Moore, […]
Don’t get me wrong, I’d have liked to beat the Green Bay Packers. Would have loved nothing more than to depart Lambeau last night chanting “Green Bay sucks” with my buddies. But the Bears came up just a play or two short. However, and I don’t really care if this sounds like loser talk, the feeling I had leaving the stadium yesterday and the one I have today is one of optimism.
The Bears lost. But for the second straight game, they went on the road against a legitimate Super Bowl contender...
The NFL has released its second batch of Pro Bowl votes for the 2025 season, which now includes 17 Green Bay Packers who have earned top-10 status at their individual positions, up from 15 last week. As a reminder, Pro Bowl voting is open for the next week. If you want to vote, you can […]
Portland Trail Blazers rookie center Yang Hansen made his first career NBA start during Portland’s 119-96 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday. With Donovan Clingan and Robert Williams III both on the injury list, the 7-foot-2 rookie filled in on the road and contributed four points (2-5 shooting), five rebounds, two assists and two […]
Out of the National Hockey League now for over two years, Milan Lucic is finally nearing a contract to return to play, but it will be in a surprising destination not exactly known as a hockey hotbed: The U.K. Sounds like Milan Lucic is taking his game overseas. I'm hearing he's signing with a club in the UK's Elite Ice Hockey League. — David Pagnotta (@TheFourthPeriod) December 8, 2025 Insider David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period has reported that Lucic will be signing in the UK's Elite Ice Hoc...
The Edmonton Oilers’ search for a goaltender nearly landed them Tristan Jarry netminder. But while rumours have swirled that the deal would send Stuart Skinner the other way, that doesn’t appear to be the case. In fact, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported on Monday’s edition of the 32 Thoughts podcast that the Oilers have been looking to pair…
After a couple months of information slowly dripping out, the Nationals have finally announced their 2026 coaching staff, or at least most of it. At the Winter Meetings, Paul Toboni told reporters what the staff will be for 2026. Most of these names were already known, but there were a couple new faces in there. […]
Sunday afternoon the Seattle Seahawks became the first NFC team to reach double digit victories during the 2025 season, though the division rival Los Angeles Rams matched that win total just a few hours later. The final margin, a 28-point win, hides how close the contest remained early, with the teams emerging from the locker […]
The New York Jets have been eliminated from the playoffs for the 15th consecutive season. You know what the Jets haven’t done even once in those 15 years? They’ve never made the first pick in the NFL Draft. In fact, they haven’t made the first pick in the NFL Draft since 1996 when the franchise […]
As the New England Patriots returned from the bye, so did an undrafted rookie. The organization announced the re-signing of guard Mehki Butler to the practice squad on Monday. Butler, 24, had been back in Foxborough for a workout last week. The 6-foot-3, 310-pound interior lineman originally signed after participating in rookie minicamp on a […]
Baltimore Ravens offensive guard Ben Cleveland has been suspended for three games for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy, per a team announcement. Cleveland, 27, was arrested in February and charged with a DUI. He initially pled not guilty, but recently reached a plea deal for probation, per Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic. The fifth-year […]

It’s not a new rumor to say the Chicago Cubs are interested in Japanese ace Tatsuya Imai. They have been connected in multiple reports , and the fit is otherwise quite obvious. You have a Japanese star (Cubs are strong in that area, though have two Japanese players hitting free agency after next season) coming over at age 27 (Cubs, like everyone, prefer pitcher youth if possible), who cannot be attached to draft pick compensation, and you have a club with a need in the front half of their rota...
On Monday afternoon the Blackhawks assigned defenseman Sam Rinzel and forward Landon Slaggert to the Rockford IceHogs.
The Blackhawks did not call anyone up.
The move leaves the Blackhawks with six defensemen on their NHL roster, which means they’ll go back to skating 12 forwards. Which, with Slaggert going to Rockford, also means Sam Lafferty will draw into the lineup until Nick Foligno returns from injury.
Reset time
I advocated for Slaggert to go to Rockford earlier ...

Following a dreadful pair of games over the weekend, the Blackhawks made a couple of roster moves that have seemed increasingly likely over the last few weeks.
On Monday, the Blackhawks announced that Landon Slaggert and Sam Rinzel have both been sent to the Rockford IceHogs.
