Tuesday Morning Texas Rangers Update

Good morning. Kennedi Landry writes that Corey Seager’s slump lowlighted another low-scoring loss for the Texas Rangers on Monday. Evan Grant writes that the second spot in the lineup being a black hole thus far is among the reasons the Rangers have struggled to score runs. Jeff Wilson chimes in on the Rangers’ assertion that […]

Wrapping Up the 2025-26 Season

As the calendar flips into another playoffless May this week for the Red Wings, we don’t have any breaking news, or much on the immediate horizon, for that matter. But we do have plenty to talk about stemming from the Red Wings’ locker cleanout media availabilities, as well as the first round of the NHL playoffs. Let’s get started. And if there are intriguing matters not covered here, drop them in the comments. Maybe we can roll out a mailbag-type article or two while we await the busy se...

Bottom Six Minutes: Well, now it’s a best of three

Nothing about this series between the Montreal Canadiens and Tampa Bay Lightning has been easy on anyone involved. The intensity has made it an absolute grind for the players, and I think I can speak on behalf of most fans when I say that these games have had me chewing my nails down to the quick. It just might be the best first-round series in the league, and it shouldn’t come as much surprise that it has turned into a best-of-three, with both teams now having taken a game in the other’s barn...

Flyers scratching Matvei Michkov changes absolutely nothing

Despite the Flyers putting their cross-state arch rivals on the brink, sitting one game away from round two after a season that was almost a write-off, there is still one negative talking point that has gotten beaten to death for the past week or so. While the Flyers deserve plaudits for over-performing to a man in their round one series, it has cast a spotlight on some of their younger stars who haven’t been able to make an impact. After Denver Barkey got off the snide in Game 4 with a t...

Ryan Tverberg scores first playoff goal, Dennis Hildeby a rock between the pipes as Toronto Marlies punch ticket to second round

“We played a lot smarter, stayed above them a lot more, and were able to shut a lot more things down against them.” – Ryan Tverberg “Right out of the gate, the hustle was there. A big goal by Ryyno (Ryan Tverberg) — that line was awesome. The Beast (Dennis Hildeby) was phenomenal.” – Vinni […] The post Ryan Tverberg scores first playoff goal, Dennis Hildeby a rock between the pipes as Toronto Marlies punch ticket to second round appeared first on Maple Leafs Hotstove .

Celebrini & McKenna Joining Team Canada for World Championships

Team Canada is going to be absolutely loaded in Switzerland for the World Championships. After naming several NHL veterans to their roster over the last week or so, the management team has been able to convince San Jose Sharks superstar Macklin Celebrini to head overseas, as well as this year's likely first overall draft pick Gavin McKenna. Maple Leafs Have Big Decision to Make With Matias Maccelli

Matias Maccelli's first season as a Toronto Maple Leaf did not go according to plan for anyone involved. The 25-year-old winger was acquired from the Utah Mammoth last summer for a conditional third-round pick that carried a chance to become a second-rounder if Maccelli reached 51 points and the Maple Leafs qualified for the playoffs. Neither condition was met. Maccelli finished with 14 goals and 25 assists in 70 games, and the Maple Leafs ended the season 32-35-14 with a second-last fin...
