The unofficial start of the NBA trade season (December 15) has passed, and to nobody’s surprise, the Rockets have not made any moves. However, with the season being anything but smooth so far, with losses to the Utah Jazz, New Orleans Pelicans, Sacramento Kings, and L.A. Clippers being just a few examples of how they […]
One of the greats of recent Minnesota Vikings history is now one step closer to reaching pro football immortality. The Pro Football Hall of Fame has announced its list of the fifteen “Modern Era” finalists for potential enshrinement in the Class of 2026, and among them is Vikings defensive lineman Kevin Williams. This is his […]
The Brewers had an amazing season in 2025. They put together a surprise league-leading regular season and rode that into a small playoff run. Most fans would say that everything is looking bright for the team. It’s a positive mark in the Wisconsin sports scene, which doesn’t look as good when you look outside the […]

Georgia Tech is 9-4 and has been somewhat erratic. Their losses have been to Georgia, then Depaul, Drake and […]
For the third straight season, Ohio State will be playing in the Cotton Bowl. On Wednesday night, the Buckeyes will match up with the Miami Hurricanes, with the winner moving on to the Fiesta Bowl next week to take on the winner of the Sugar Bowl, which will feature Ole Miss and Georgia on New […]
It’s obvious one of the major problems of the 2025 Detroit Lions was their defense. On a weekly basis, the Lions were giving up explosive play after explosive play, and in key moments, Detroit’s defense just couldn’t get off the field. It only seemed to get worse, as even the Lions’ normally-steady run defense collapsed […]
Now that the Kansas City Chiefs are no longer playing for the postseason — and dealing with a long list of injured veterans — the focus has shifted to gathering data on young players who may have key roles in 2026. No player has benefited more from those opportunities than rookie cornerback Nohl Williams. He […]
The Cleveland Cavaliers picked up a much-needed victory as they defeated the San Antonio Spurs 113-101 on Monday evening. Now, let’s dive into some of the stats.
This offseason arrived sooner than expected for the San Diego Padres and it has only highlighted some of the issues the team has been needing to address. The roster holes are not even the biggest issue, that title is reserved for the Seidler family exploring the sale of the team. That announcement coupled with the […]
With an astounding 41.9 points per game, the Indiana Hoosiers have the 4th ranked scoring offense in the country in their second year under offensive coordinator Mike Shanahan. You could be forgiven for a double-take there, as the legendary NFL Coach has not, in fact come out of retirement. In fact, Indiana’s Shanahan is not […]
And so it’s come to this. The final week of the NFL regular season will decide who wins the NFC West. It was a wild ride, but the San Francisco 49ers have a chance to take that crown back and not go on any more road games in 2025. The 49ers have issues—or an issue: […]
The big question with the Philadelphia Eagles this week is if they’re going to rest starters or not in their Week 18 game against the Washington Commanders. There appears to be increasing sentiment that the Eagles will indeed prioritize rest despite the fact that the Eagles must do their part to win to have a […]
This is a developing story. When Northwestern football won the GameAbove Sports Bowl on Dec. 26, ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg reported that the “offensive reset” was coming for the team. It appears as though that offensive reset is already underway. On Tuesday, Northwestern made it official that it would hire Chip Kelly as its next offensive […]
The Carolina Hurricanes suffered another big blow as goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov suffered what seems to be a season-ending injury. The Hurricanes still have Brandon Bussi, who has been somewhat of a saviour for them this season out of nowhere, and Frederik Andersen, who can't really be trusted to play at a high enough level anymore, especially for a Stanley Cup contender. Kochetkov was 6-2-0 on the season with a 2.33 GAA and .899 SV%. The Hurricanes don't allow a ton of shots, so the SV% is alw...

The kids have another week left of their break for the holidays, and I am definitely not counting those days down like it’s a posting window for a Japanese star … I appreciated reading an actual human translation of Tatsuya Imai’s comments about the posting process, which we discussed yesterday , and which concludes this Friday, January 2 at the latest. The automated translations weren’t TOO far off (close enough to get the right sense of where things stand), but this is better: ...

With Major League Soccer and the majority of European competitions operating on separate schedules (for now), the transfer priorities are on vastly different timelines, which can create issues for players attempting to move. While domestic clubs understandably want to hold onto their talents throughout the season and pursue the best possible finish, certain opportunities could […]
I took my boys to the Husker Women’s basketball game today. It was a full house and a lot of fun, even with the outcome. If it weren’t for the quick run that USC went on to start the third quarter, Nebraska would’ve got them. USC is good inside. We got to see a fired […]
Igor Shesterkin dragged the Rangers to overtime, but once they got there, the lack of talent and offense was impossible to hide.
I don’t think I’m talking out of school when I say that Saturday’s loss to the Flames was one of the more disappointing outcomes we’ve had lately. The Oilers were outplayed for stretches, hit posts en masse, and ultimately came up a goal short of picking up at least a point in the first game…

For the 73rd time, the North Carolina Tar Heels will compete for an ACC Championship. Carolina opens ACC play tonight against Florida State. The Tar Heels are 58-14 in ACC openers and 64-8 in ACC home openers. This is the second time in three years that the Heels face the Seminoles in the ACC opener. […]
The Syracuse Orange will need to replace another offensive starter we thought was coming back in 2026. Last night wide receiver Darrell Gill, Jr. announced that he’d be entering the transfer portal on Friday. Gill went from a late in the cycle signing by Dino Babers to a productive wide receiver the last two seasons […]
