How about this to get you excited on a Tuesday in early January, Blackhawks fans! Connor Bedard and Frank Nazar were on the ice together before the Blackhawks practice on Tuesday morning at the artist-formerly-known-as Fifth Third Arena .

Since we’re on a good run with Blackhawks prospect content right now, let’s stay with the future of the Chicago Blackhawks.
Blackhawks prospect Roman Kantserov did an interview with Daria Tuboltseva at R.com about his season, an NHL future and moving to center. It’s a good, deep interview with a lot to take away. A couple comments that stood out to me.
The first quote that got my attention was what he said about the Blackhawks still actively recruiting him to sign:
“To be fair...

If you’ve driven to a Blackhawks game over the past couple seasons, you’ve undoubtedly noticed the construction off Damen. If you’ve been to a Hawks practice at Fifth Third Arena, you’ve driven past the ongoing project.
On Tuesday morning, the Blackhawks announced some significant updates to their practice facility.
The Blackhawks announced the rebranding of Fifth Third Arena to Blackhawks Ice Center, effective in late January 2026, when the new space opens to the public.

Sweden won gold at the World Junior Championship last night, the first title for the Swedes since 2012. Blackhawks prospect Anton Frondell had a very good tournament. He was named the top forward in the tournament by the directorate (team management groups) and was also named one of the three forwards on the media’s all-tournament team .
“It was time for gold, and we did it. It’s amazing,” he said after the game.

Coming into Monday night, we already knew history was going to be made at the World Junior Championship. Sweden hadn’t won gold since 2012. Czechia hadn’t won the title since 2001. They faced each other for the 2026 championship.
Both squads had Blackhawks prospects on their top lines in the game.
For Sweden, Anton Frondell , the third overall pick by the Blackhawks in the 2025 NHL Draft, was tied for the tournament lead with five goals coming into the gold medal game. For Czechia, V...

On January 5th in 2011, Viktor Stalberg of the Chicago Blackhawks collected a hat trick of iron ringing the puck off both posts and the crossbar on a failed penalty shot attempt against Kari Lehtonen in the second period of a 2-2 match, extending his scoreless streak to 19 games.
In response to the miss the Swede remarked "it's hard to imagine that happening" whilst the Finn backstop conceded "I

How about these Chicago Blackhawks? After a brutal stretch of games in which they went 1-8-0 that began with the game against the Blues in which Connor Bedard got hurt, the increasingly young Blackhawks have flipped the script. They’re 4-1-1 in their last six — a stretch that includes two wins against the Dallas Stars and Sunday night’s win against the Vegas Golden Knights.
Those three wins against teams viewed as Western Conference powerhouses have been impressive in many ways. The fact ...

The Blackhawks played in Washington on Saturday evening and flew home to face the Vegas Golden Knights. Chicago has been terrible in the second half of back-to-backs this year. They’ll need to change the scripts against a good Vegas team.
But… Vegas comes into this one banged up on the back end and with questions about their goaltending. The Golden Knights have lost three straight and are 3-5-2 in their last 10 games. The Blackhawks will have a good shot tonight.

Fresh off their second win in a row, the Blackhawks are back in action on Sunday night, hosting the Vegas Golden Knights at the United Center.
These two teams met in Vegas one month ago, with the Hawks unable to hold on to a late lead before ultimately losing 4-3 in the shootout . That win was part of a hot stretch for VGK, which won six of seven in late November and early December. But it’s been all downhill since, with the Knights losing seven of their last eight games, including a 4-3 ...

The Blackhawks had a good nice in our nation’s capital last night, beating the Washington Capitals 3-2 in a (lengthy) shootout . With the win, the Hawks are now 3-1-1 in their last five games (three of which required a skills competition). And the Blackhawks remain undefeated in 2026.
But the Vegas Golden Knights were in Chicago for a Saturday practice and comfortable dinner. We know the Blackhawks have been bad in the second half of back-to-backs this season. Let’s see if they can put so...

After a big home win to start the new year against Dallas at the United Center, the Blackhawks start a tough weekend back-to-back in Washington against Alex Ovechkin and the Capitals. The Caps come in just 3-6-1 in their last 10 games and in fourth place in the Atlantic Division, but they have the best goal differential (plus-15) in the division. Go figure.

Chicago Blackhawks head coach Jeff Blashill thinks Hockey Canada made a huge mistake leaving off Connor Bedard from the recently announced roster. Blashill came to the defense of his star player, who is currently on the IR with a shoulder injury. Blashill feels Bedard can help Canada win a gold medal, and be a huge reason for their success, much like he's seen in Chicago this season. I have a ton of respect for how hard these decisions are. Honestly, Canada, the U.S., Sweden, you h...

Chicago won that prior meeting 4-3 with the aid of the shootout , with rookie Nick Lardis providing the winning tally during the final gimmick portion of the game to give the Hawks’ a much-needed pair of points, as that was one of Chicago’s three victories in the month of December and only win in the last nine games.
