The Chicago Blackhawks were thoroughly steamrolled Saturday night, surrendering six goals to the LA Kings and being shutout while offering all the resistance of a revolving door. Gross.
Warren Foegele opened the scoring 1:55 into the second period, dropping to one knee and hammering home a one-timer set up by Trevor Moore. Tyler Bertuzzi coughed the puck up along the boards trying to kick it out of danger and too many other Blackhawks were puck watching, leaving Foegele wide open.

The Chicago Blackhawks are once again in Los Angeles Saturday to take on the Kings. Considering this will be the second time the Blackhawks face the Kings in three days, nothing much has changed since our last preview except that the Blackhawks pulled off a 2-1 victory in the first meeting.
In that game, the Blackhawks and Kings played a tight, low-scoring game that didn’t see a breakthrough until the second period. After a scoreless first, Chicago finally opened things up on a power play...

For the second consecutive game, the Blackhawks will face the Kings in Los Angeles tonight. At least this game starts an hour earlier? And at least the Blackhawks were able to pull out an important, impressive win the previous meeting.
Teuvo Teräväinen is a game-time decision after taking a puck to the mouth late in the win two nights ago . He’s been terrific for the Blackhawks this season, no matter who’s on the ice with him. The Blackhawks did not have a morning skate, so we’ll have to ...

There are lots of reasons to be excited about the Blackhawks in the NHL right now. There are as many (maybe more?) reasons to be excited about where the Blackhawks might be in the future. Even when we’re told there will be regression, and reminded of the percentages of prospects who actually hit at the NHL level, it’s hard to not look around this organization and be hyped right now.
The relative level of success the Blackhawks are having right now is even beginning to win converts from so...

The Vancouver Canucks are listening to trade offers on captain Quinn Hughes, as teams around the league have witnessed the body language on the ice, the awkward quotes off the ice, and considering all things considered, a trade is coming at some point this season. Insert, the Chicago Blackhawks. While most of the attention in Hughes talks have been on the New Jersey Devils, Detroit Red Wings, and Philadelphia Flyers, the Blackhawks are a team to watch, as they've been linked to making a ...

December is going to be a busy month for the Blackhawks’ prospects. NCAA and CHL games are heating up, but there will be players who leave their respective teams for camps to get ready for the World Junior Championship as soon as next week. It’s also worth noting again that Minnesota-Duluth goaltender Adam Gajan will play in the Spengler Cup on the college select team; that tournament overlaps with the World Juniors.
Just this past weekend I updated our top 20 Blackhawks prospect rankings...

The Hawks built up a multi-goal lead and never let it slip away while beating the Los Angeles Kings 2-1 out in California on Thursday night.
After a scoreless opening period, the Hawks took a 1-0 lead when Tyler Bertuzzi found Connor Bedard in prime hockey real estate for this relatively easy tap-in goal during a Chicago power play:

A weird scheduling quirk has the Hawks playing a pair of games in a row against the Los Angeles Kings over the next three days, with the first arriving on Thursday night out in California.
These two teams met in Chicago in on Oct. 26, with the Kings snuffing out most of the Hawks’ offense during a 3-1 victory for the visitors . LA’s been up and down since: they lost three of four on both sides of Halloween, then won four straight before losing five of seven, including a 3-1 loss to the Ca...

When the Blackhawks began their rebuild a three years ago, general manager Kyle Davidson told us he was going to build a fast team that could skate with anyone. In each of Davidson’s draft classes, the Blackhawks have targeted exceptional skaters.
Frank Nazar and Oliver Moore were widely viewed as the best skaters in their respective draft classes. The Blackhawks landing them in the first rounds of their drafts felt like the stars were aligning at the time; the video clip of Davidson pump...

On a lovely, snowy, day-after-a-late-game Wednesday for Blackhawks fans, I want to share a terrific, highly recommended read from Dom Luszczyszyn and Sean Gentille at The Athletic . Especially after the absolute show he put on in Vegas last night, it’s a great perspective on Connor Bedard ‘s ascent to the elite tier of NHL superstars this season.
The piece isn’t exclusively about Bedard; Macklin Celebrini and Leo Carlsson are both also on ridiculous paces to have huge, breakout seasons. B...

If you stayed up late enough to watch all the way to the end of an extended shootout that ended just a few minutes before midnight, you were treated to an outstanding hockey game . That was a Vegas team with Stanley Cup aspirations and the game was played at a playoff level. Spencer Knight and Carter Hart were both spectacular in net. Connor Bedard put on a show. It’s an absolute shame the Blackhawks didn’t walk away with two points, but that was a great game to watch.

VGK enters this game sitting third in Pacific Division with 30 points (11-6-8) from 25 games, well within striking distance of Anaheim (16-9-1). The trends have been more down than up in VGK of late, with the team crashing back to Earth after goin...
