Recently my wife had me watch a wild show from Taiwan called The Resurrected , which seemed to end its gory and off-the-wall nine episodes by setting up an ill-advised second season. Anyways, one of its central premises was that torturing someone who is devoid of hope is not as fulfilling of revenge as torturing them with the illusion of hope.
Just something to chew on as the White Sox try to salvage a split in Cleveland.

The Chicago White Sox need to add to their roster if they want to overtake the Cleveland Guardians in the AL Central.
When, in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one fan base to dissolve the contractual bands which have connected them with their bullpen, and to assume, among the powers of baseball, the separate and equal station to which the laws of nature and of nature’s commissioner entitle them — first place in […]
1:17PM: The Phillies signed 17-year-old right-hander Ho Hua out of Taiwan for a bonus in the neighborhood of $500K, as initially reported by Francys Romero. As per Scott Lauber of the Philadelphia Inquirer, the pool money obtained in the Degges trade helped the Phillies make the Hua signing. 11:24AM: The Phillies have added $250K of […]
Two walkoffs in as many nights have put the Guardians a game ahead of the White Sox in the AL Central race. After Brayan Rocchio‘s two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth sealed a 6-5 victory on Thursday, Kahlil Watson was the hero on Friday with a 10th-inning walkoff single and a 4-3 Guards […]
Even after the last two nights, the Guardians have a ways to go to catch the White Sox for walk-off hits on the season, but they'll settle for the AL Central division lead instead.
The Sox have made a name for themselves largely with power, and hit six of the seven farthest struck batted balls on Friday night. But five of them went for outs, where as a pair of hard grounders from Travis Bazzana and Khalil Watson off Sean Newcomb plated a game-winning Manfred Man for Cleveland in the 10th, th...
After both the Cleveland Guardians and Chicago White Sox had no issues scoring last night, there was no doubt that this game would be much more likely to end as a pitcher’s duel. True to form, the game ended up being exactly what most fans expected — until a rain delay changed the fortunes of […]
Stuart Fairchild elected free agency after being designated for assignment by the Guardians last week, reports Tim Stebbins of MLB.com. The outfielder went unclaimed on outright waivers and has the three years of MLB service that gives him the right to explore the market. Fairchild was pushed off the roster when the Guards brought up […]

Although the Chicago White Sox went 6-3 over nine games heading into their series with the Cleveland Guardians, a Chicago loss in the opening game draws the two teams even atop the AL Central. With three games left to go, someone will be leaving this series with a lead in the divisional race. Last night, […]
In a season that has seen the Cleveland Guardians struggle at the plate as much as nearly any team in baseball, they remain firmly in the thick of the American League playoff race. At 46-42, Cleveland currently holds a wild-card spot and is tied for the lead in the AL Central. That position is surprising, […]

With a dramatic walk-off homer from Brayan Rocchio on Friday night, Cleveland turned the tide on the Cinderella story out of Chicago.
The Chicago White Sox are currently taking on the Cleveland Guardians in a four-game weekend set, which includes a Fourth of July showdown on Saturday evening. On Thursday evening, in a back-and-forth game, the White Sox unfortunately surrendered a walk-off home run to the Guardians, and are now tied with the Guardians for first place […]

In a close game, the White Sox battled late, but sloppy baserunning, poor pitching, and a walk-off home run from Brayan Rocchio gave the Guardians the win. The White Sox fell 6-5 in the first of four games in Cleveland, one neither team necessarily deserved to win. A few singles and a lot of bad […]

The Chicago White Sox and Cleveland Guardians are locked in a neck-and-neck battle for AL Central supremacy. These trades could help one team gain the edge.
Davis Martin has actually been a bit better against lefties (.645 OPS) than righties (.698 OPS) this season, with neutral platoon splits for his career. Nevertheless, the Guardians will have six lefties and two switch-hitters digging in against him.
As a reporter, there was something darkly amusing about seeing a clutch of users of X, the disinformation app , give attention to a Rotoworld update saying that Munetaka Murakami was day-to-day to return from his hamstring strain. Mainly because ...
Between the White Sox losing and the Guardians winning yesterday, the division rivals sit atop the AL Central, with the Guardians just one game back in second place. The White Sox did win their first road series since May 3, but they will also need to win at least three of the four games in […]

Guardians 9, Rangers 4
The Chicago White Sox will need to get aggressive at the MLB trade deadline if they want to fend off the Cleveland Guardians in the AL Central.
The Texas Rangers scored four runs but the Cleveland Guardians scored nine runs. I will simply choose to be glad that A. the Rangers enjoyed a successful road trip against all odds and B. the road trip has now concluded. Despite this one appearing to be an imminently winnable contest (after all, Texas did have […]
For the second time this year, the Guardians are parting ways with Pedro Avila. The right-hander signed a minor league contract with Cleveland in December, and the team granted him his release when he failed to make the Opening Day roster. Less than a week later, the two sides came together on a new minor […]
