As the Colorado Rockies prepare to start their three game series with the Arizona Diamondbacks, they announced a series of roster moves on Thursday afternoon. Brenton Doyle was injured on Tuesday while making a diving catch, so his landing on the IL with a left-oblique contusion is not surprising. Meanwhile, Chad Stevens has absolutely been […]
The offseason brings a lot of rankings, and with where the Arizona Cardinals are at in their process they are not going to be ranked too highly in most of these rankings. One that came out today was about the rankings of all the NFL general managers, and for the Arizona Cardinals and Monti Ossenfort […]
It may seem obvious that the Diamondbacks are better than the Rockies. Up front, my expectation is for the Diamondbacks to win this four-game series against the Rockies. Nevertheless, let’s compare the teams. Top-level comparisons follow. The 3-game Series at Coors. In the previous two seasons, these teams split their games at Coors, but the […]

The Arizona Cardinals are the second-oldest continuous pro football team in North America, behind the Toronto Argonauts. However, no team in the NFL is older. A lot of sports teams have included a color in their team’s name. Look at today’s landscape to prove this point: Vegas Golden Knights, Toronto Blue Jays, Golden State Warriors, […]
Joe Ross is a free agent again, and this time his time with Arizona appears to be over for good.
The Diamondbacks released the 32-year-old right-hander from his Triple-A assignment with the Reno Aces.
Ross posted a 4.29 ERA with a 12-to-5 strikeout-to-walk ratio across 21 Triple-A innings after being sent down. Joe Ross Heads to the Open Market
The big league numbers that preceded the Reno assignment were the reason he never truly had a chance to stick.
Ross broke camp with Arizona aft...
Every time the D-Backs have a dramatic finish to a game like Ketel Marte’s electric walk-off homer last night, I always half expect the team to show some lethargy the next day. That certainly hasn’t been the case this year to this point and that’s a real credit to the coaching staff and the veteran […]
It wasn’t enough that Ketel Marte broke the hearts of the San Francisco Giants with a walkoff three-run homer Tuesday night. He just had to go 3-for-3 with a walk and cross home plate as many times as the Giants’ entire team did in a 6-3 Arizona Diamondbacks win. Tyler Mahle fell to 1-6 after […]

That lifted the Diamondbacks over the Giants for the second night in a row. What to Make of Nelson’s Uneven StartRyne […]
The Arizona Cardinals are preparing to step into the strength of the NFC West Division and attempt to upset a lot of fans and stable franchises. The Cardinals will have to learn a new offense and become the Los Angeles Rams 2.0 and mirror the San Francisco 49ers. How much this Cardinals’ offense will improve […]
There’s an old sketch from The State called “The Barry Lutz Show” where a doctor played by Thomas Lennon explains his research in the field of “monkey torture,” accompanied by an adorable simian. He eventually takes a phone call that purportedly tells him he has to stop torturing monkeys forever and let them all go, […]
Tonight almost fell into the bucket of the very frustrating games that this team definitely should have won category. Their starting pitcher went 7 strong innings while their offense continued to squander opportunity after opportunity late into the game. However with 2 outs in the 9th, the biggest star on the team Ketel Marte finally […]

The Arizona Cardinals opened their first Organized Team Activities (OTAs) of the offseason on May 18 at the Dignity Health Training Center in Tempe, Arizona. This event was labeled as voluntary, but every rostered player was urged and invited to attend. The most notable player absent was QB Jacoby Brissett, who has stated he wishes […]
The ABS Challenge System had indirect impacts beyond the challenges. As you know, this season the ABS challenge system arrived in the Majors. What you may or may not know is that the initial ball-strike calls had a higher accuracy this season. Let’s focus more specifically, on the overall accuracy of umpires calling pitches just […]
Working our way through previewing the Dallas Cowboys 2026 schedule, it is time to look at the Arizona Cardinals. Starting with the Baltimore Ravens, who the Cowboys will play internationally in Brazil, and moving on to the Cardinals is much more than just a bird to bird transition (leaving the Seahawks and Eagles still waiting). […]
Game Recaps Diamondbacks get production from entire lineup in win over Giants by Alex Weiner [Arizona Sports] Not to be lost on Monday was a solid performance from D-backs starter Zac Gallen, who delivered his first quality start (six-plus innings, three earned runs or fewer) since April 1. That was the game when he blanked […]
Welcome to Tuesday everyone! We were treated to some grade-A pitching last night from young right-hander J.T. Ginn. For eight innings the 26-year-old only allowed one walk while taking a no-hitter into the ninth. We’re going to ignore what happened in the final inning from last night’s game because we can. That performance dropped Ginn’s […]
Good morning, baseball fans! The San Francisco Giants continue their local road trip later today when they take on the Arizona Diamondbacks. In the meantime, I thought we’d take a moment to watch a video that the team’s social media crew put out last week on their YouTube channel. In the video, Giants players answer […]
Now that the Arizona Cardinals have picked their draft choices, and for the most part, signed all the available free agents they need, it is time to start putting the right schemes in place, and getting ready for the June Rookie Readiness Program and then July’s training camp. The roster is ready to be groomed […]
Before Monday’s game, veteran third baseman Nolan Arenado had hit more home runs and driven in more runs against the San Francisco Giants than any other MLB team. Against Monday’s starter Robbie Ray, Arenado had a career slash line of .364/.444/.773. Six pitches into Monday’s game, Arenado had a grand slam and the Arizona Diamondbacks […]
