Bulls Guard Ayo Dosunmu Gives Concerning Update on Two Thumb Injuries

Fifth-year reserve Chicago Bulls guard Ayo Dosunmu has been missed while sitting out the team’s last two contests with thumb injuries, and has now taken the time to provide an update on the extent of the problem. Or, more concerningly, problems. Per K.C. Johnson of Chicago Sports Network , Dosunmu has revealed that both his thumbs are sprained. While he asserts that his left thumb is more painful, he is also dealing with a bone bruise in his right thumb. The 6-foot-4 University of Illinoi...

Hot Take Tuesday: It’s time.

Let’s get into it. I could spend some time praising the Bears’ beatdown of the Cleveland Browns, but you’ve seen those articles already. I could spend some time talking about Caleb Williams’ ridiculous touchdown pass to DJ Moore and how it looks identical to Joe Montana’s throw in the 1981 NFC Championship Game, known as […]

The Mac & Read Show: Bears get back in the Win Column!

The first place Chicago Bears control their own destiny (is a sentence I love to type), and this week they can clinch a playoff spot (another sweet collection of words), albeit they’d need a little help. But still, it’s mid-December, and the Bears are playing meaningful football! On our latest Mac & Read Show, Evan McLean and […]

The Best of Caleb Williams in Week 15

Caleb Williams has made some truly remarkable progress in his second NFL season. But in his first season under Head Coach Ben Johnson, starting fast is something that has eluded him. The game-sealing interception in the end zone in Green Bay was the backbreaker for Chicago in Week 14, but the slow start (as it has many weeks) forced the Bears into that situation in the first place. Getting the offense going early was a point of emphasis heading into Sunday’s matchup with the Browns, and W...

Bears vs. Packers Injury Report: Odunze, Burden DNP

As the Chicago Bears prepare for their 15th game of the season against the Green Bay Packers on Saturday, the first official team injury reports for week 16 have been released. The Bears had a walk-thru practice on Tuesday, so player participation listed on the injury report is an estimation. Four players were listed as […]

Chicago Bears Injury Report: Rome Odunze and Luther Burden III Miss Walk-Through

Packers Week 2.0 is here … and so is the first Chicago Bears Injury report ahead of Saturday’s showdown. And while the Bears opted for a walk-through instead of a full-fledged practice on Tuesday, there are notable updates worth sharing to start the week. Chicago Bears Injury Report vs. Packers in Week 16 This is what the first installment of the Bears injury report looks like: #Bears Injury Report The Chicago Bears conducted a walk-thru on Tuesday, participation is an estimatio...

All the latest news and rumors for the Houston Astros and all around MLB – It’s in here! The offseason edition Crawfish Boil for December 16, 2025: The former 2011 2nd Rd pick of the Houston Astros split 2025 between the White Sox and Rays, going a combined 8-5 with a 3.31 ERA and 1.28 […]

The Short Porch is going Cubsmas caroling

It’s the most wonderful time of the year as the holidays approach. If your calendar is anything like mine the time from Thanksgiving through New Years is filled with opportunities to catch up with loved ones, holiday parties with old friends, and more. This Saturday, Dec. 20, the Bleacher Bunch podcast including some of your […]

Adrian Houser gets $22M from Giants

Remember Adrian Houser? Journeyman righthander, was an NRI with the Rangers last spring, had a good camp, made eight starts and a relief appearance for Round Rock (with a 5.03 ERA) before opting out of his deal to join the Chicago White Sox rotation? Well, he reportedly has agreed to terms on a two year, […]

Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Chicago Blackhawks – Game #32 Projected Lines, Preview & TV Info

With Joseph Woll back in the net and Connor Bedard out for Chicago, this is a game the Maple Leafs really need to win — for the response after the Edmonton loss, for the points in the standings, and for Joe Bowen on his special night (7:00 p.m. EST, TSN4). Game Day Quotes Max Domi […] The post Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Chicago Blackhawks – Game #32 Projected Lines, Preview & TV Info appeared first on Maple Leafs Hotstove .

Cubs Still Being Attached to Tatsuya Imai and Michael King – What’s the Appetite for Risk?

Outside of a stray Zac Gallen report that initially inadvertently reported a signing , I would say the two free agent starting pitchers who’ve been most seriously linked to the Chicago Cubs this offseason are Japanese ace Tatsuya Imai and outgoing Padres righty Michael King. Each offers significant upside, but comes with his own significant risk (for Imai, it’s the transition to MLB; for King, it’s his robust injury history). Each also has a contract projection that is a little tough to peg, a...

NFL Playoff Picture: Bears-Packers Flip, Broncos Clinch, Huge Rams-Seahawks Matchup This Week

The Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers flip-flopped in the No. 2 and No. 7 seeds this week and have a crucial matchup on deck on Saturday at Soldier Field. Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Rams have a huge road matchup against the Seattle Seahawks to open Week 16 on Thursday Night Football. That, and more, in this week’s NFL playoff picture check-in. Cubs re-sign Caleb Thielbar

Caleb Thielbar was one of Jed Hoyer’s better reclamation projects in 2025. After posting a 5.32 ERA in 59 relief appearances for the Twins in 2024 at age 37, Thielbar appeared done. But Hoyer and his team saw something they liked, so they signed Thielbar to a one-year, $2.75 million deal. And Thielbar had possibly […]

Caleb Thielbar is Coming Back to the Cubs

Although the Chicago Cubs have over the years made quite a practice of finding low-cost relief options and spinning them up into significant contributors, what they have done far less often is bring those relief options back after that year of contribution. If you want to take that as a sign that the Cubs really saw something special in Caleb Thielbar’s time with the team, you may feel free to do so. The Cubs are bringing him back: News: The Cubs are bringing back lefty Caleb Thielba...

My Snowman and Me: Blackhawks at Maple Leafs Preview

The Chicago Blackhawks travel north to Toronto as the Blackhawks and Maple Leafs each try to put an end to a two-game losing skid. The Leafs’ season to date has been defined by inconsistency and unmet expectations: instead of sitting comfortably in the Atlantic mix, they find themselves a handful of spots outside the playoff picture, stuck in the muddled middle of the Eastern Conference. The wins haven’t come in bunches, defensive lapses have been a recurring issue, and the overall produc...

Artyom Levshunov Will Be a Healthy Scratch in Toronto

After the morning skate, Blackhawks head coach Jeff Blashill confirmed that rookie defenseman Artyom Levshunov will be a healthy scratch on Tuesday night in Toronto. Levshunov was late getting to the rink for practice on Monday, so it was disciplinary — not based on his play. This is another reminder that this season is about setting standards for everyone involved. I like the move by head coach Jeff Blashill. It helps that the Blackhawks called up a seventh defenseman before th...

Bears Injury Updates: Rome Odunze, Luther Burden III, Tremaine Edmunds

The Chicago Bears injury report will be worth keeping tabs on this week. Not only are we on high alert since it is Packers Week, it is worth highlighting that there are a handful of Bears injury updates that we will monitor obsessively because they are potential game-changers. For good measure, that we’re adding to the mix that it is a short week with these two teams playing on Saturday complicates matters a bit. Bears injury updates ahead of Week 16 game vs. Packers ROME ODUNZE ...

Cubs position player pitchers: Joe Mather

The 2012 Cubs were, by design, a bad team. New President of Baseball Operations Theo Epstein had torn down the previous structure to rebuild, and what was left was not very good. After an unexpectedly good 15-10 July, the Cubs began August winning just six of their first 24 games, never winning more than one […]

Overtaking the GOAT? Stephen Curry Breaks Two Michael Jordan Records, Eyes a 3rd

When it rains in Chicago, it pours. With not much to celebrate day to day for the Chicago Bulls, the one thing we’ve always had was Michael Jordan and his legendary run in the Windy City. But here comes Stephen Curry, breaking not one, but two Jordan records — with another major one approaching soon. So, what were the TWO Michael Jordan records broken? Let me read you the charges facing the Baby-Faced Assassin. On December 12, in a game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Curry ...

Is Roch Cholowsky the best fit for the White Sox?

For the first time since 1977, the White Sox have the first overall draft pick in the summer draft, and the timing couldn’t be more favorable. In a top-heavy draft, Chicago doesn’t have to guess who may fall to them. After wisely picking future Hall-of-Famer Harold Baines in 1977, the Sox are hoping to make […]

2026 NFL Mock Draft: Love to the Chiefs, Bears Get Pass Rush Help, QBs Fly Off The Board In Top 10

Let’s run through another 2026 NFL Mock Draft. With Fernando Mendoza taking home the Heisman Trophy, is he a lock to be the first quarterback off the board in this spring’s NFL Draft ? That’s unlikely with the College Football Playoff still to be played out. Plus, the Kansas City Chiefs will be in a position to take a playmaker, and the Bears will look to add more defensive line help. 2026 NFL Mock Draft 1. New York Jets (via NYG): QB Fernando Mendoza – Indiana If the Giant...
