Patriots fan rooting guide for NFL Week 12: Monday edition

It may not have been pretty, but the New England Patriots were able to keep their win streak alive against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. Thanks to their 26-20 win, they are now 10-2 and the current No. 1 seed in the AFC. The other 13 games played this weekend also are worth keeping an […]

Patriots dedicate Bengals win to teammate Jahlani Tavai

When the New England Patriots boarded their flight from Providence to Cincinnati on Saturday, linebacker Jahlani Tavai was not with the rest of the team. While healthy, he was ruled out of the game for what was announced as personal reasons by the club. The exact nature of Tavai’s absence is not known, and something […]

Comments from the Other Side - Magic 11/23/25

The Celtics are still an enigma.  They play well enough to build a 26 point lead and then they slack off and allow the Magic to come back and make it a game. Maybe losing Queta was a bigger deal than we thought.   Glad they held on for the win,  but it shouldn't have gotten that close.  It always amazes me when fans hate so many of their own players, even to wishing one injured.  My favorites are in bold.  What are yours?   Possible schedule l...

Jared Wilson injury update: Patriots guard considered week-to-week

The left side of the New England Patriots offensive line is going to look drastically different for the foreseeable future. Not only is tackle Will Campbell likely to sit out multiple weeks after spraining his MCL on Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals, guard Jared Wilson is also bound to miss some time. Wilson, who exited […]

Denver Barkey continuing to produce for Phantoms

It’s been another busy week of action in the books for the Phantoms, and after kicking off their week with a big win on home ice against a high-powered Rochester team (holding the top scoring offense in the league to just two goals), they took their show on the road for a pair of games against Providence and Hartford on the weekend. That weekend back-to-back ended in a split, with a strong response game pulled together against the Wolf Pack after a tough loss to the Bruins on Friday, bringing ...

Fan Notes from the Patriots’ win over the Bengals

Happy least productive week of the year, everyone! Thanks for spending some of the time you’re killing at the office today and tomorrow with me as I break down the 10th Patriots win of the year. I’ve always found that braving the holiday traffic and Black Friday deals is a lot easier when it comes […]

Hall of Fame Poll: Mark Buehrle

This year is Mark Buehrle’s sixth time on the ballot. His vote started at 11.0%, then 5.8%, 10.8%, 8.3% and back to 11.4% last year. It doesn’t look like his numbers are going to grow. Buehrle is one of the most interesting choices on the list. Mark was never the best pitcher in the game. […]

Multiple Levels of Disappointment

Where did all the feelings go? What about that happy glow? Was that so long ago, when we were first in love? -Neil Young, Mr. Disappointment When J.J. McCarthy hit Jalen Nailor on a 3rd-and-5 to seal a victory at Ford Field over the Detroit Lions, it really felt like the Minnesota Vikings had finally […]

‘When is he going to get a belt?’: Bill Haney critical of Conor Benn as worthy challenger to his son

Devin Haney is once again a world champion and this time in the welterweight division following a decision win over Brian Norman Jr over the weekend. With Haney’s win the attention immediately turned to where he will look for his next opponent in a rather weak division at the moment, and with Conor Benn being […]

10 lessons learned from Patriots vs. Bengals in NFL Week 12

The New England Patriots hung on to win a sloppy game against the Bengals in Cincinnati on Sunday. It wasn’t always pretty, and some of the injuries they sustained might come back to hurt them later in the season, but they still managed to keep their win streak alive, and, at least until next week, […]

Morning Skate: Chomped

Monday begins, and a new week is upon us! The Bruins ended their California road trip with a loss on Sunday night, falling to the San Jose Sharks, 3-1. The B’s fell behind 2-0 with a Shark goal in each of the first two periods, but Morgan Geekie (who else) got one back midway through […]
