The San Jose Sharks have signed forward Kiefer Sherwood to a new deal, just weeks after trading for the 30-year-old. In a press release from the team this morning, the Sharks announced the Sherwood will stay with the team through the 2029-2030 season. The deal pays Sherwood $5.75 million per season. “We are very excited to have Kiefer remain in San Jose and be part of the group that we are building,” said General Manager Mike Grier after the contract was announced. “The ingredients he bri...

Kiefer Sherwood Signs Big Extension With Sharks

Pending UFA Kiefer Sherwood was a big trade acquisition for the San Jose Sharks back in January. But the team reportedly had some "sticker shock" once they sat down with the player's camp to talk extension. The two sides have now worked all that out, and Sherwood is on board with a new, rich, five-year extension in San Jose. Bottom Six Minutes: A comedy of errors sinks Habs in San Jose

With Buffalo and Boston both posting wins earlier in the day, the Montreal Canadiens visited the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday with a big two points up for grabs. In one of their more frustrating performances in recent memory, they bumbled their way to a three goal deficit in the third period, stormed their way back to tie the game, then took a late penalty that ended up giving the Sharks the game-winning goal. The first two goals scored by San Jose were byproducts of confusion and bad puck ...

49ers listed as a team to ‘keep an eye on’ for Mike Evans

The rumor mill is churning after the NFL Combine. We’re under a week away from finding out who the San Francisco 49ers covet in free agency. According to Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports, the Niners are a potential landing spot for free agent wide receiver Mike Evans, who has “a real chance he will take […]

Elephant Rumblings: A’s Gaining Preseason Momentum

Happy Wednesday A’s fans. Following a slow start to spring training, the Athletics have started to gain momentum as spring training enters its second week. The team’s offense has erupted, while its pitching has stabilized as players continue tinkering with their approaches in preparation for Opening Day later this month. Everyone from regulars to top […]

Wednesday BP: McCovey Chronicles All Stars

Good morning, baseball fans! Over the weekend, I asked the McCovey Chronicles community to weigh in and give some shout outs to their fellow community members. You all absolutely delivered en masse, and I’d like to share some of the responses here. There was no way I could include everything from the thread, as we […]

Player Grades: Lakers vs. Pelicans

The Lakers are securely at the point of the season where winning by any means necessary is the objective. After a pair of easy wins over the Warriors and Kings, they had to grit one out on Tuesday to knock off the Pelicans. After a very unserious three quarters, the Lakers turned it up to […]

Canadiens @ Sharks Top Six Minutes: Montreal’s defence goes on vacation in San Jose

First period A hot start for Montreal sees the top line get two quick scoring chances. They’re ready to play this one. Lane Hutson takes Macklin Celebrini right out of the play along the boards. He wants to prove he’s the better player is looks like. Jakub Dobeš just got his stick on a pass destined for a wide-open player at the side of the net. He may have saved a goal with the play. Hutson has made a standout play on each of his shifts so far. Oliver Kapanen tries ...

San Jose is the first stop on Montreal’s California road trip. The Canadiens are coming off a big 6-2 win at home over the Washington Capitals. A’s topple Team Brazil 14-4

In my game threads post I suggested that a fifteen run route of Team Brazil was one I very much desired. Fourteen runs later, the A’s walk away with a win, one run short of my predicted run total but just as offensively sweet. Let’s get into it… Aaron Civale took the bump today, for […]

Game 60: Montreal Canadiens @ San Jose Sharks Start time:  **10:00 PM EST / 7:00 PM PST** In the Canadiens region: TSN2 (English), RDS (French) In the Sharks region: NBC Sports California Streaming: ESPN+, RDS, TSN+ Martin St-Louis must have liked what he saw from his team on Saturday in a 6-2 win over the Washington Capitals because he has made no changes from that lineup. Zachary Bolduc remains of the third line, Jayden Struble is still on the third pairing, and Jakub Dobeš is...

Giants perform their civic duty, get crushed by Team USA

The San Francisco Giants knew their part on Tuesday and they played it well. Perhaps a little too well, if you ask me. The Giants hosted a star-studded Team USA on Tuesday at Scottsdale Stadium, serving as the tune-up appetizer before the World Baseball Classic starts later this week. And an appetizer they were. A […]

Why Year 3 for Ricky Pearsall is so critical for the 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers’ wide receiver room is going to look drastically different in 2026. Jauan Jennings and Brandon Aiyuk are departing, with Deebo Samuel leaving this past offseason after signing with Washington. The top three wide receivers from 2023 will be in different uniforms. Surely the 49ers expected one or two to depart, but […]

A’s vs. Team Brazil Game Thread!

Unless I’m mistaken, today’s matchup against Team Brazil is the first time the ball club has ever competed against a World Baseball Classic team?? Can anyone fact check that? Google has really taken a dive and I’m having a difficult time locating any type of database that says otherwise. Although I want to say I […]
