If the New Orleans Saints cannot go to the playoffs this season, then why should anyone else? After defeating the NFC South-leading Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 14, Kellen Moore’s group followed that up with a 20-17 come-from-behind win over the Panthers in Week 15’s game that would have resulted in Carolina taking the top […]
Prior to the start of each season, the Draysbay community takes part in an excercise in which the top prospects in the Tampa Bay Rays system are ranked by popular vote. The Florida Panthers finished off its four-game road trip in fine fashion, rolling to a 5-2 win over the division-leading Tampa Bay Lightning at Benchmark International Arena.
A hooking call on Niko Mikkola gave the Lightning an early man-advantage, but it was the Panthers who’d get the opening goal at the 2:16 mark.
After Sam Reinhart got a piece of Darren Raddysh’s shot, Aaron Ekblad settled the puck and sent Reinhart away with Anton Lundell on a 2-on-1 break. Raddysh laid out to t...
Hello CSR! Welcome to Ask Brian, part one of your weekly Panthers fan mailbag for everyone! Unfortunately, the Panthers once again played rubber band football with the season by losing a huge divisional matchup against the Saints on Sunday. This continued with the theme of the season, as the Panthers manage to steal games they […]
It’s hard to call a play that happens roughly five minutes into the game a turning point, but when the Florida Panthers scored their second goal of the game mere seconds after Yanni Gourde glanced a shot at an open net off of the crossbar, the feeling that it was going to be one of those nights was there. The two early goals, and some key goaltending by Sergei Bobrovsky, forced the Lightning to chase a deficit they could never overcome as they dropped the game 5-2 to the Florida Panthers.

On Monday, the Indianapolis Colts lost two linebackers off their practice, as Chad Muma and Anthony Walker Jr were claimed by the New England Patriots and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers respectively. Having been claimed from the Jacksonville Jaguars from final 53-man roster cuts, Muma appeared in 5 games for the Colts this season, recording 5 […]
In a move that felt like it was coming all offseason, the Atlanta Braves are finally signing 30-year-old free agent shortstop Ha-Seong Kim. It’s a one-year deal, but according to Jon Heyman, it’s for $20 million … a very good get for Kim, but also a sign of the weakness of the free agent middle-infield class.
Ha-Seong Kim (Back) to the Braves
Ha-Seong Kim had a bit of a strange year. Also a free agent last winter, Kim signed a two-year, $29M contract with the Rays that included an op...

The Habs went 2-1-1 during the second week of December, and sit third in the Atlantic Division with a record of 17-11-4.
It started with another full-on embarrassment at home, a 6-1 beatdown courtesy of the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday. The Habs then took to the road, with Jacob Fowler getting his first NHL regular-season start against the Pittsburgh Penguins after the Habs hit the organizational panic button – calling up Fowler, Adam Engström and Owen Beck.

The 7-7 Carolina Panthers, with today’s loss to the New Orleans Saints, are tied again with the 7-7 Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Technically, they are second in the NFC South. They have multiple paths to the NFC South title from here and are still, very barely, in control of their own destiny. NFC South Apparently, nobody […]
Conor Garland is among the many Vancouver Canucks players who have come up in the rumor mill this season. If the Canucks officially shop Garland, look for these three teams to be in the mix for his services. Tampa Bay Lightning The Lightning are never afraid to make a big move, and they should be aggressive again this season. A player like Garland could grab their attention, as he would have the potential to give their top six a major boost if acquired. Boston Bruins Th...
Well, at least the Tampa Bay Lightning finally scored more than one goal against Ilya Sorokin. After giving up two early goals, the Bolts battled back with goals from Darren Raddysh (on the power play) and J.J. Moser to tie the New York Islanders. Overtime solved nothing, and Sorokin stopped two of the Lightning’s three shootout attempts while Mathew Barzal and Emil Heineman were able to slip pucks past Jonas Johansson to earn the extra points in a 3-2 victory.
With the win the Islanders ...
The Islanders found themselves momentarily in first place in the Eastern Conference by total points (if not pts. percentage) on Dec. 13, 2025, after sweeping the Tampa Bay Lightning with the third win over the previous first-holders in the past couple of weeks. Like the previous two games with the Lightning, it was close, nerve-wracking […]

The Winter Meetings are over as teams have made their long treks back home, or in the Rays case, a brief drive down I-4 back to Tampa Bay. It was a busy few days for the Rays, even if they only added one player to their projected Opening Day roster. Let’s break down what happened: […]
The Seahawks had to fight harder than expected to beat the Falcons. The first half from the offense was clearly below expectations, but the second half offered legitimate reasons to believe this unit can return to being productive. Adding even more value to the result is the fact that Atlanta had just beaten the Buccaneers […]
If you didn’t catch Thursday Night Football, you would have missed quite an interesting ending. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were leading the Atlanta Falcons and then let it all slip through their fingers. They were up by 14 points in the fourth quarter, then managed to squander it away. Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles had […]
If nothing else, at least now the Tampa Bay Lightning have some clarity as to their captain, Victor Hedman. On Friday, the team announced that the soon-to-be 35-year-old defenseman would undergo elbow surgery on Monday in order to repair an injury that has kept him sidelined for a long stretch of time starting in early November.
For The Big Swede, the timeline places him back in competitive action in early February (possibly in time for the Stadium Series game against Boston), but more li...
