It’s been quite the few days for the Chicago Bears. After an all-time thriller on Saturday night resulted in an improbable victory over the rival Packers, Ben Johnson’s team benefitted from another bizarre ending Sunday afternoon as the Pittsburgh Steelers managed to *narrowly* hold on for a victory over the Detroit Lions that clinched a […]
What a 24 hours it has been. The Pittsburgh Steelers got their ninth win of the season in an upset win over the Detroit Lions, and the New England Patriots did the Steelers a solid by defeating the Baltimore Ravens to push them to the brink of elimination from playoff contention. And, on a personal […]
The Cleveland Browns opened as 4.5-point underdogs at home against the Pittsburgh Steelers ahead of their Week 17 match-up, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. The over/under on the game is 34.5. The Browns (3-12) are coming off of a 23-20 loss to the Buffalo Bills. It was an unusual game in terms of the flow of […]
The Detroit Lions (8-7) dropped another game to an opponent they were expected to handle at home, losing 29-24 to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 16. With their playoff hopes on the line, the Lions were unable to perform at the level of a playoff team, made several self-inflicted errors, and moved away from many […]
About a decade ago, the Pittsburgh Pirates surprisingly signed Korean star infielder Jung-Ho Kang to a tiny four-year, $11 million deal after winning his posting with a mere $5 million bid (that’s how it worked back then). It was unclear just how good he might be in MLB, and obviously teams were wary. So the Pirates kinda came out of nowhere, and nabbed him. Kang went on to be kind of a monster his first two years in MLB, before derailing his career with legal troubles .
From Japan, the P...
With the Bears having already handled business on Saturday, I started watching “Severance” at the suggestion of a new friend. The early returns have me intrigued, even if I realized quickly that it might not be the best show for me to watch on an eerily quiet night in the neighborhood because of its mind-bending plot. Anyway, I’m always open to new show suggestions. Bonus points if they’re funny and I can watch as background noise.
Let’s start this BN Bears Bullets with a celebration me...
Week 16 could not have gone better for the Pittsburgh Steelers. They pulled off the upset on the road against the Detroit Lions, defeating the reigning NFC North champions 29-24, and were able to watch the New England Patriots defeat the Baltimore Ravens 28-24. That sequence of events puts the Steelers on the brink of […]
The Detroit Lions seem incapable of avoiding drama when it comes to their losses, and that was certainly the case in their 29-24 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday evening. After the Steelers scored a touchdown to go up 29-17 with just 6:36 left, Detroit mounted a furious comeback. They scored in about two […]
The Pittsburgh Penguins snapped a couple of losing streaks on Sunday night with their 4-3 win over the Montreal Canadiens. The most important streak it snapped is the eight-game losing streak they were on. Arguably the more satisfying streak that it snapped was their nine-game shootout losing streak that went all the way back to […]
The Blackhawks were off yesterday, things are bad here, and the Blackhawks don’t play again until tomorrow. So I want to start our Monday with some respect for an all-time great making history on Sunday. Sidney Crosby had two points on Sunday. The second, an assist on a power-play goal by Rickard Rakell at 12:40 of the first period, gave him 1,724 points (645 goals, 1,079 assists).
That’s one point more than Mario Lemieux, and now the most points in Pittsburgh Penguins history.

Thanks to the Steelers beating the Lions, the Bears have CLINCHED a playoff spot for the first time in five years. I want that top seed, though … I’m greedy …
So, after all that silence, Munetaka Murakami winds up getting just two years and $34 million total from the Chicago White Sox. Oof. The writing was really on the wall about the size of the contract when the puff piece about Murakami maybe-being-the-next-Kyle-Schwarber came out. That was a tell that the previously-projected seven-...
The Detroit Lions blew a game they needed to have, and there’s plenty of blame to go around in their 29-24 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Let’s break it all down in Detroit’s Week 16 report card. Quarterback: B Without a run game and dealing with a patchwork offensive line, Jared Goff nearly helped pull […]
It has come to this. The Cleveland Browns are facing off with the Pittsburgh Steelers at home off the shores of Lake Erie in Week 17. The Browns only have 2026 NFL draft order rooting goals, Myles Garrett’s chase of the single-season sack record, and a chance to play spoiler against their longstanding rival. Even […]
The Baltimore Ravens lost a 28-24 heartbreaker to the New England Patriots on Sunday night, dropping them to 7-8 and putting their season on the ropes. The Pittsburgh Steelers can deliver a knockout punch next week with a win over the Cleveland Browns. Even if they lose, the Ravens still have to beat the Packers […]
After recording 0.5 sacks in the matchup against the Buffalo Bills, Myles Garrett is now one sack away from taking over the record for most sacks in a single season. With two games left in the season against the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals, Garrett has an opportunity to not only beat the record but maybe surpass […]
The Pittsburgh Pirates are making some noise in the offseason and they could be a team to watch in free agency. The BD staff got together and shared which player they want the Pirates to target in free agency. Austin Bechtold The Pirates should sign third baseman Eugenio Suarez. After training for Brandon Lowe, the […]
Sidney Crosby moved to the top of the Penguins’ all-time scoring list on Sunday evening, passing franchise legend Mario Lemieux with a goal and an assist in the first period during the team’s game against the Montreal Canadiens. Crosby entered Sunday’s game trailing Lemieux by one point, tying and setting the new scoring record with […]
Things are grim for the Detroit Lions. After Sunday’s loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Lions are on life support. The Lions not only need to win their remaining two games, but they need outside help as well. Regardless of whether the Lions beat the odds and squeak their way into the playoffs, this season […]

The Pittsburgh Steelers had the chance to make a massive late-season statement in Week 16. Going on the road to face the Detroit Lions, who were in desperate need of a win to stay alive in the NFC playoff race, a win to get Pittsburgh to 9-6 put a ton of pressure on the Baltimore […]
The Baltimore Ravens no longer control their own destiny in the AFC North. They are going to need some help in order to make the postseason after their loss to the New England Patriots on Sunday night. That’s because the Pittsburgh Steelers won on Sunday, defeating the Detroit Lions. The Ravens were already eliminated in […]
Pregame The Penguins mostly stick with their lines from Saturday night’s game, with the exceptions of Jack St. Ivany and Arturs Silovs getting into the action tonight. The visiting Canadiens are working with these formations as they call it in French. First period The game starts out frightening similar to last night — the Penguins […]
The playoff dream is not officially dead, but we are firmly in miracle territory. For the first time since 2022, the Detroit Lions have lost back-to-back games, and it came at the worst possible moment.
