Blackhawks Prospects Score Hat Tricks on Back-to-Back Days

The CHL got back under way this weekend, and the Blackhawks’ pipeline wasted absolutely no time making their impact. On Sunday, a Blackhawks prospect had a hat trick for the second time in as many days. Steven Ellis / X Saturday — Nathan Behm, Kamloops The WHL was back in action on Saturday night. Nathan Behm had a hat trick and two assists for a five-point night in a 9-5 win for Kamloops. Yes, I said five points ! Behm scored once in the first period and twice in the final thre...

MUST-SEE: Ben Johnson’s NFL on NBC Interview With Tony Dungy

Ben Johnson is a fascinating person to listen to when it comes to talking football. Even as the flu bug attacks, the Chicago Bears are riding high entering their Week 17 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. They officially clinched a playoff spot last week. And on Saturday night, the Bears also claimed their first NFC North title since 2018. Given their success, you can expect to see (and hear) from more players and coaches in the coming days and weeks leading into their playoff run (...

The Panthers Didn’t Help … But the Bears Still Have a Path to the No. 1 Seed

The Panthers didn’t do the Bears any favors this afternoon. Carolina fell to Seattle, eliminating the cleanest path for Chicago to take control of the NFC’s top seed on Sunday night. But while the door didn’t swing open, it’s not closed, either — the Bears still very much have a route to the No. 1 seed in the NFC. Here’s where things stand: The Bears (11-4) are guaranteed to finish as either the 1, 2, or 3 seed in the NFC. They entered the day sitting at No. 2 behind the Seahawks (12...

Bears Flu Game? Darnell Wright is Flying in For Week 17

Are we about to get a Chicago Bears Flu Game? The team is getting some good news on the health front. Brad Biggs shares the latest: #Bears RT Darnell Wright is en route to Santa Clara. He did not travel with the team Saturday because of an illness. Wright is questionable and his availability will be a game-time decision. He's had a Pro Bowl-caliber season and this is potentially good news. — Brad Biggs (@BradBiggs) December 28, 2025 Bears Flu Game Watch: Wright, Moore, Zac...

49ers TE George Kittle “Highly Unlikely” To Play Against the Bears

The NFC North banner is already hanging — at least figuratively — after the Bears clinched the division Saturday night thanks to Baltimore’s win over Green Bay. But the most meaningful stakes of the season are still ahead. With a win over the San Francisco 49ers tonight and a Panthers upset of the Seahawks this afternoon, Chicago would wake up Monday holding the No. 1 seed in the NFC. And on the eve of the biggest December game the franchise has played in years, the Bears may be catching ...

Blackhawks vs Penguins — Lineups, Broadcast Info, Game Thread

The Blackhawks won a huge game coming out of the break in Dallas last night. But that game required a shootout — before they could fly home and grab a few hours of sleep before hosting Sidney Crosby and the Penguins tonight. As I mentioned in our bullets this morning, Darren Pang said on the broadcast last night there is a chance the Blackhawks get their captain back for tonight’s game. Without a morning skate, we’ll have to wait and see what the lineup looks like during warmups. I’m goin...

Today in White Sox History: December 28

1947 In what was a game played later in the year than any NFL contest ever, the Chicago Cardinals won the NFL title, 28-21, over the Philadelphia Eagles at Comiskey Park. The club went 9-3 on the season, one that saw them go an undefeated 5-0 at home (yeah, just five home games, seven road, […]

Taking the North, DVOA Stock Watch, DJ the Trend Setter, Important Games Before SNF, and Other Bears Bullets

To follow up the intro from Saturday’s BN Bears Bullets lead-in: My first pho experience was great. Tremendous. I’m sure I’ll like it more once I get the hang of using chop sticks. In case you missed it: The Chicago Bears are the 2025 NFC North champs ! And in doing so, they became the 20th team to put up a one-year worst-to-first turnaround in the last 23 years. Because I’m sure you’re curious, the Bears have done it three times (2005, 2018, 2025). More history: Did you know t...

Black and Yellow: Blackhawks vs. Penguins Preview

Fresh off the snapping of a six-game losing streak, the Hawks are back home on Sunday night to host the Pittsburgh Penguins. Somehow, in the year 2025, a preview involving this Pittsburgh franchises still requires writing the names Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang, as all three remain key contributors for the team despite Crosby and Letang being 38 and Malkin being 39. Perhaps that reliance on older players — don’t forget about 35-year-old Erik Karlsson, either — also explains...

Dec 7, 2025; Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA; Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams (18) warms up before the game against the Gr...

Cubs historical sleuthing: Jackie Robinson Day edition

This one’s pretty easy, because it says “Jackie Robinson Day, April 15, 2007” on the message board beneath the Wrigley Field scoreboard. Credit again goes to BCB reader Clark Addison. In fact, it’s the very first Jackie Robinson Day, and Griffey was the player most responsible for making that happen. April 15, 2007 was the […]

The Cubs Bullpen Build Out Continues, Payroll and Roster Construction, Rizzo Hopes, and Other Cubs Bullets

DA BEARS ARE THE NFC NORTH CHAMPIONS . That’s not the end goal in a season that has become as compelling as this one, but it’s absolutely something you want to achieve when the year starts. And something very few would’ve predicted back in September. So I’m gonna smile about it. (Now go get that number one seed …. ) We’ll have more analysis on the Hunter Harvey signing , because, like I said, I love the potential upside there. Here, though, I wanted to talk about the various implication...

Blackhawks Prospect Nathan Behm Continues Impressing in the WHL

When the Blackhawks selected forward Nathan Behm in the third round (No. 66 overall) in the 2025 NHL Draft, I was intrigued. He was a prospect going into the draft that some analysts thought had the potential to be an early second round pick. In his pre-draft season, Behm scored 31 goals with 35 assists in 56 games for a team that wasn’t in the playoff race. When he slid in the draft, it was surprising. And I was excited the Blackhawks selected him. The more highlights I watched and ...
