Steelers Mailbag: Who should replace Mike Tomlin?

Q: I am not saying I’m for or against moving on from Coach Tomlin, but that topic comes up every year when the team is going through a tough stretch. When that topic comes up, people often say, “Who would you want to replace him that you think would do better?” So let’s play the […]

2025 Dodgers season review: Gavin Stone

Gavin Stone was the answer to a trivia question in 2024, as he led a championship team in both starts (25) and innings pitched (140 1/3), but did not pitch during the postseason. The right-hander had shoulder surgery in October 2024, which not only wiped out a potential playoff run but also the entire 2025 […]

Pelicans Fire Head Coach Willie Green Only 12 Games Into Season

The New Orleans Pelicans are making a change at head coach. After starting the season 2-10 as one of the NBA’s worst teams, the organization announced on Saturday morning that it had fired Willie Green. The decision comes months after the franchise moved on from David Griffin in the offseason and named Joe Dumars as the Pelicans’ new head of basketball operations. Dumars initially chose to keep Green as the man in charge, but has now promptly switched things up less than a month into...

How will the Washington Nationals overhaul their bullpen?

The Nationals had a lot of weaknesses in 2025, but none were worse than the bullpen. They had the worst bullpen ERA in baseball at 5.59, and it was not even close. There were actually a couple of points where the unit looked alright, but as a whole, it was a dumpster fire. Major changes […]

Wrigley Field historical sleuthing: Marquee edition

Here is a very good photo of the Wrigley Field marquee, and it is from a very specific time frame. The marquee was painted blue/green until 1965, as noted in this Wrigley Field history post (the marquee photo there is from 1962). When Tribune Co. bought the Cubs, they replaced the manual letters and numbers […]

Three takeaways from UNC’s blowout win over NCCU

Last night, UNC dominated North Carolina Central in order to improve to 4-0. The game had a lot more of a flow than the game against Radford as far as the foul call situation goes, but the Eagles did their best to slow the Heels down with their zone defense. While they did just that […]

Why shy away from Alex Bregman?

Top free agent lists produced by different writers around the game are always fun. You can probably take your own mix of the top fifty players available, mix them up and it’ll probably match something somebody has already written. We know who the top free agents are going to be weeks before they actually become […]
