Penguins Believe Jason Robertson Would Welcome A Trade To Pittsburgh

Jason Robertson has already turned down trades to Seattle and St. Louis this summer. Pittsburgh believes it would be different. Per Josh Yohe of The Athletic , there is a growing belief within the Penguins organization that Robertson would be happy to come to Pittsburgh, a critical distinction in a saga that has been defined by the star winger's willingness to say no. "Robertson was not willing to play in Seattle, but the Penguins believe the winger would be willing to play in Pittsburgh,"...

Shane Wright's Preferred Destination Revealed

The Seattle Kraken continue to work with Shane Wright's representatives to get the beleaguered young center to a new destination. He's been on the trade block since before the deadline in March. To be clear, Wright does not have any trade protection, so he really has no say in where he goes next.  However, we're learning that Wright himself appears to have a preferred destination.  Ben Kuzma of The Vancouver Province tells us that the player wants to be dealt to the Vancouver Canucks...

Toronto Maple Leafs continue to reject trade offers

The Toronto Maple Leafs aren't done tinkering their lineup for next season, but that doesn't mean general manager John Chayka is going to cave, and make a bad trade. Defenceman Morgan Rielly continues to be on the trade block, but Chayka isn't interested giving away Rielly for free. Multiple reports have surfaced recently stating the Leafs continue to have dialogue around Rielly, and are open to moving the longest-tenure Maple Leaf, however, all of the trade offers that have come Toronto's wa...

Sabres & Capitals Swing 1-for-1 Trade

The Buffalo Sabres and Washington Capitals have completed another trade. It won't quite have the impact of the sign-and-trade swap of Alex Tuch earlier this offseason, but for two minor league players, it's a fresh start with new organizations.  The Buffalo Sabres have acquired forward Zac Funk from the Washington Capitals in exchange for forward Tyler Kopff. pic.twitter.com/TNWHZQJ19E — Buffalo Sabres PR (@SabresPR) July 13, 2026 The Sabres acquire forward Zac Funk, a 22-year-old undraft...

The Toronto Maple Leafs made a serious push for Claude Giroux, and it was not enough. Per Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Citizen , the Maple Leafs offered Giroux the biggest contract of any team in free agency before the veteran forward re-signed with the Ottawa Senators . "The Citizen also reported that the Toronto Maple Leafs were interested, along with the Edmonton Oilers," Garrioch wrote. "The talk is that the Leafs offered Giroux the biggest contract, but Toronto isn't the type of market th...

Kings Making Trade Calls On Canucks' Elias Pettersson

The Los Angeles Kings have kicked the tires on Elias Pettersson, though nothing came of it. Per Farhan Lalji of TSN , speaking on Donnie and Dhali, the Kings called the Vancouver Canucks about their struggling center, but the conversation did not advance far. "There has been some conversation around Elias Pettersson. I do know that the Kings made a call and they kicked the tires," Lalji said. Sabres & Jets Hellebuyck Trade Talk Is 'Still Going'

It looks like there might actually be something to this Connor Hellebuyck to the Buffalo Sabres talk. The two sides tried to work out a deal back around the time of the Draft, but it didn't come together. The Jets' star goalie did, however, agree to waive his no-move clause to go to Buffalo. Now, insider David Pagnotta says the talk is "still going", and Hellebuyck would be quite happy being a Sabre.  David Pagnotta says Connor Hellebuyck wants to go to the Buffalo Sabres pic.twitter.com/...

Jamie Langenbrunner spent 18 years as a player, mainly with Dallas and New Jersey and has been in NHL front offices for more than a decade since he retired. But his son, Mason, a fifth-round pick of the Boston Bruins, has decided to retire at the age of 23. UFA Patrik Laine A Solution To The Chicago Blackhawks Injury Woes?

The Chicago Blackhawks center Connor Bedard will be out for the next four months, as he recovers from surgery on his left shoulder. This doesn't bode well for the team, which has been a bottom-dwelling organization before his arrival in 2024.  Last season, the organization finished 31st in the league ( 29-34-14 ) and 8th in the Central Division; with no improvement in sight, they'll need help in the top six.  One option available for the Blackhawks would be to augment the forward cor...

Many observers around hockey feel that the Winnipeg Jets got a steal with Viggo Björck at the 8th overall pick in this year's NHL Entry Draft. It was thought, however, that the 18-year-old talented Swedish center would stay at  Djurgården for another season. He has made a surprise decision: Björck is coming to the NHL and the Jets for the 2026-27 season. Viggo Björck is leaving Djurgården to pursue NHL opportunities with the Winnipeg Jets. https://t.co/ybuHbLKlTu — Murat Ates (@WPGMurat) ...

Report: 95% Chance Hellebuyck Is Traded This Offseason

It'll be a tough pill for Winnipeg Jets fans to hear, but according to longtime Jets beat writer Mike McInytre of the Winnipeg Free Press , Connor Hellebuyck is almost certainly getting traded this summer.  The rumors have been floating around since the three-time Vezina Trophy winner made it clear at his exit interviews that the Jets season was "unacceptable". It was painful watching him try to answer a reporter's question about if he was considering his future with the team .  Talk...

Report: Canadiens Homing In On UFA Anthony Mantha

Unrestricted free agent Anthony Mantha picked a good time to have a career year. The 31-year-old blew away his career highs this past season with the Pittsburgh Penguins, with 33 goals and 64 points. Now he feels he has a chance to cash in as a UFA.  The Montreal Canadiens are interested. But on a short-term deal only.  Marc-Olivier Beaudoin of BPM Sports tells us that the Habs have " a willingness to team up on a (very) short-term basis, while Mantha would be looking for a medium/lo...

Canucks Insider Reveals 'Most Likely Scenario' For Elias Pettersson on Trade Market

He's gone from a 100-point scorer to a 50-point scorer the last two years. The difference is... that $92.8 million contract. Elias Pettersson is the biggest anchor holding down the Vancouver Canucks and the team being able to forge full-bore into its rebuild.  The 27-year-old Swede is firmly on the trade block, but with six more years to run at an $11.6 million cap hit and a full no-move clause, it's a difficult situation.  Canucks insider Rick Dhaliwal, speaking on Oilers Now , has ...

2 Trade Options For Flyers At Center After Losing Out On Carlsson

The Philadelphia Flyers took the L on the Leo Carlsson offer sheet attempt, but it was a valiant effort. Philly is looking for a legit No. 1 center, and they went all out to try and land one.  But even outside the top-line issue, the Flyers' depth down the middle is thin, at best, throughout the lineup. They'd love to land an established, productive pivot.  We've already learned that throwing out another offer sheet at an Adam Fantilli, for instance, just isn't in the cards for Phill...

Are the Blackhawks and Canucks Ideal Trade Partners For Elias Pettersson?

With the Chicago Blackhawks missing Connor Bedard to start the season in recovery from shoulder surgery, general manager Kyle Davidson shouldn't give up on improving the lineup.  The team will be without their 1C, and would give Frank Nazar or Anton Frondell a shot at a top spot in the lineup. But neither has earned the spot.  The team could afford to augment their depth down the middle by turning their gaze West and attempting to leverage their assets for the Vancouver Canucks Elias...

Report: Kraken's Sky-High Ask For Potential Shane Wright Trade With Canucks

The Seattle Kraken continue to try to move Shane Wright. We learned last week that the team is working with his agent to try to find a fresh new start for the former 4th-overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft.  The Vancouver Canucks are one of those teams with interest in Wright, but insider Rick Dhaliwal said on the Oilers Now podcast that the Seattle ask was sky-high, and not something the Canucks were interested in.  According to @DhaliwalSports , the Vancouver #Canucks have shown int...

Matthew & Brady Tkachuk Think $18M for Carlsson Is An ‘Underpay’ Bargain

Now that the dust has settled on Leo Carlsson Offer Sheet-Gate, observers around hockey are weighing in on the $18 million salary that the Anaheim Ducks young center will be earning on his new contract.  Not surprisingly, fellow NHL players are quite pleased with the huge payday that Carlsson earned. And the Tkachuk brothers, and now teammates, Matthew and Brady, feel that Carlsson's $18M will be "an underpay." “18 million’s going to be an underpay.” Matthew and Brady think $18M annually ...

4 Free-Agent Destinations for Michael Bunting

Michael Bunting continues to be one of the better free-agent wingers left on the open market. The pesky forward is mulling over several offers, as he's certainly being patient with his decision on which team he's going to play for next season, and beyond. Bunting, 30, appeared in 61 games for the Nashville Predators last season before being moved to the Dallas Stars for their stretch, and Stanley Cup Playoff run. Bunting combined for 14 goals and 19 assists in 74 games, and also had one assis...
