Former Illini Cheerleader David Mizer Establishes Cheerleading Scholarship Fund

Former University of Illinois cheerleader David A. Mizer has established the David A. Mizer Cheerleading Education Fund, creating a new scholarship opportunity for members of the Fighting Illini Cheerleading program and laying the foundation for a broader effort to engage former cheerleaders and supporters in investing in the future of the program. The inaugural recipient of the 2026 scholarship award is four-year team member and 2026-27 team captain, Lily Seifrid.

Illinois Athletics Extending Partnership with Nike

The University of Illinois Division of Intercollegiate Athletics (DIA) will continue its three-decade partnership with Nike, agreeing to a 7-year contract extension with the industry leader in footwear, apparel, and sports equipment manufacturing. Illinois Athletics and Caterpillar Deepen Shared Roots with a Sponsorship

Illinois Athletics has announced a sponsorship with Caterpillar Inc., the global leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, off-highway diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives. Through a multi-year agreement facilitated by Learfield, the two iconic Illinois brands will come together every game day, with the Caterpillar logo prominently displayed on the 25-yard lines of Zuppke Field in Gies Memorial Stadium.
