Rosemary Longisa Wins NCAA 1500m Championship
Washington State sophomore Rosemary Longisa won the 1,500-meter run outdoor national championship, Saturday evening, at the 2026 NCAA Division-I Outdoor Track & Field Championships, at Hayward Field at the University of Oregon. Longisa became the first Cougar woman in program history to win the event, crossing the finish line in 4:12.10.
Kurui Claims Second-Team All-America, Top-10 in 5K
WSU distance runner Evans Kurui concluded his sophomore season with a ninth-place finish in the 5,000-meter run final at the 2026 NCAA Division-I Outdoor Track & Field Championships, Friday evening, at Hayward Field at the University of Oregon. The performance earned Kurui NCAA Second-Team All-America honors, becoming the first Cougar 5-kilometer All-American since fellow Kenyan countryman Bernard Lagat won the title in 1999.
Jepkorir Earns All-America, Longisa Cruises to 1500m Finals
Washington State sophomore runners Rosemary Longisa and Caroline Jepkorir completed semifinal competition at the 2026 NCAA Division-I Outdoor Track & Field Championships, Thursday evening, at Hayward Field at the University of Oregon. Longisa claimed the fastest time of the women's 1,500-meter semifinals and earned a spot in Saturday's final. Jepkorir concluded her season with NCAA All-America Honorable Mention in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
Kurui Earns First-Team All-America, Sixth in 10K
EUGENE, Ore. –Washington State sophomore distance runner Evans Kurui finished sixth in the men's 10,000-meter run national championship at the 2026 NCAA Division-I Outdoor Track & Field Championships, Wednesday evening, at Hayward Field at the University of Oregon. Kurui's spot earned him NCAA Outdoor First-Team All-America recognition for the second-straight season in college track's longest event.

(June 9, 2026) – Washington State senior Eva Alvarez Sande and the Cougar Tennis Team each captured Intercollegiate Tennis Association year-end awards, the organization announced Tuesday. Alvarez Sande was named the 2026 Northwest Region Senior Player of the Year, while Cougar Tennis also received the Community Service Award.

Evans Kurui will represent the men and run in the national championship for the 10,000- and 5,000-meter events.
