AP Top 25 poll discussion: No. 2 UCLA, No. 3 South Carolina confirm why they’re the best in the Big Ten, SEC
An early-February AP Top 25 poll that saw some shifting and shaking could quickly experience more disruption due to two top-20 SEC matchups scheduled for Monday night. After confirming their top-five status with a home win over now-No. 6 LSU on Thursday, No. 4 Texas hosts No. 18 Kentucky (7:30 p.m. ET, SECN). The Wildcats […]
With a Big 3 of Chelsea Gray, Kahleah Copper and Shakira Austin, revitalized Rose looks to rise up the Unrivaled standings
After a day off for Super Bowl Sunday, Unrivaled resumes Week 5 action on Monday night. And the evening’s second matchup, with Rose meeting Mist, reminds how quickly things can change on the court at Sephora Arena (8:45 p.m. ET, TNT/truTV). This time last week, Mist, then winners of three-straight games, was entering a first-place […]
With latest CBA proposal, the WNBA has conceded to some player demands—but not the most important one
Last Monday, members of the WNBPA executive committee left the much-anticipated in-person collective bargaining agreement (CBA) meeting the WNBA dismayed that the league had not come prepared with a new proposal, as the league had yet to respond to a proposal submitted by the union over a month prior. As WNBPA president Nneka Ogwumike said […]
Can No. 2 UCLA extend their pursuit of Big Ten perfection against No. 8 Michigan?
It’s pretty clear this is a do-or-die season for No. 2 UCLA. They entered the year highly-ranked and have remained near the top the entire season. Last year, they made their first Final Four appearance in program history, and with Lauren Betts back and playing in her senior season, this is the moment for the […]
Backs against the wall, No. 22 Maryland displayed trademark resiliency in two quality Big Ten wins
Lose a couple in a row to teams below you … then come up with a big win over a team above you. No. 22 Maryland’s losses to No. 2 UCLA and No. 10 Iowa may have started their four-game losing streak, but the next two to No. 24 Washington and unranked Oregon hurt more […]
Phantom wins third-straight game behind 3s and third quarter burst as Rose snaps skid at Unrivaled
Phantom takes sole control of second place in the Unrivaled standings after outpacing Mist on Saturday night, 83-71. A late-third quarter burst from the Ghost Gang proved pivotal in securing the victory. And Phantom’s two bigs, Aliyah Boston and Kiki Iriafen, were behind it. With Phantom up by one point with just over two minutes […]
Unrivaled serves up two playoff seeding showdowns with Rose-Vinyl and Phantom-Mist
When Phantom and Mist meet for the second time this season on Saturday night, two of the best Unrivaled lineups will face off (8:45 p.m. ET, truTV). A twist of fate brought Kennedy Blair to Michigan State, where she has gone from walk-on to star
Redshirt sophomore point guard Kennedy Blair’s path to becoming the best player on the No. 12 team in the nation—and the team she grew up rooting for—involved a financial sacrifice and playing-time gamble before her college career began. Blair gave up a scholarship to Bowling Green because she wanted to follow head coach Robyn Fralick […]

Breeze is building something special in Unrivaled, while Lunar Owls lurk as a looming playoff threat
Coming off their best win of the season, a 25-point showpiece against defending champion Rose, talk of a Unrivaled championship run is not bluster for Breeze. Up to No. 3 in Josh Felton’s latest Unrivaled power rankings, Breeze can build momentum when they meet their fellow Unrivaled newcomer, Hive, on Friday night (7:30 p.m. ET, […]
How No. 4 Texas and three more top-20 teams battled their way to crucial conference wins
Holding on to a four-point lead entering the fourth quarter, No. 4 Texas kicked off the final 10 minutes of their rematch with No. 5 LSU with a 10-0, a scoring spurt that would lead the Longhorns to the 77-64 get-back win, and their 39th-straight home victory. Madison Booker led the Longhorns with 18 points, […]
Unrivaled power rankings 2.0: Laces maintain top spot as Phantom, Breeze rise
We are now halfway through the Unrivaled season, which means it’s time to check in with the eight club to see where they stand. Which clubs are up, and which are down, since the last power rankings? 1. Laces (7-2) Nothing that’s happened since power rankings 1.0 has knocked Laces from that top spot; if […]
Rori Harmon and No. 4 Texas are ready for revenge against No. 5 LSU
No. 4 Texas’ bid for the second undefeated season in program history ended on Jan. 12 when the Longhorns were beaten, 70-65, by then No. 12-LSU in Baton Rouge. The result wasn’t a total shocker, but how it unfolded was surprising. Rori Harmon, the super senior point guard so trusted by head coach Vic Schaefer, […]
Winners of 13-straight games, how dangerous is No. 17 Duke?
On Dec. 4, then-unranked Duke lost their fourth-straight game, defeated at home by No. 5 LSU in the ACC/SEC Challenge to fall to 3-6 on the season. Since then, the now-No. 17 Blue Devils have won 13-straight games, steadily working their way back to the top-10 ranking they sported entering the season. A win on […]

Everything you need to know as the 2026 Athletes Unlimited season tips off in Nashville
While Unrivaled has kept professional women’s basketball going in the United States, it’s a 3×3 league and not the traditional 5×5 game fans are accustomed to. But with Athletes Unlimited starting its 2026 season on Wednesday, Feb. 4, we get 5×5 women’s pro basketball back, with an opportunity watch even more WNBA players work on […]

After a smashing, sold-out success in Philly, where should Unrivaled go next?
Unrivaled is no stranger to new ideas, but taking the show on the road was one of their more intriguing sophomore season initiatives. Philadelphia, one of the most sports-crazed cities in the United States, was a safe first choice for their destination double-header. And the Philly is Unrivaled turnout was nothing short of amazing. A […]
Did the WNBA and WNBPA accomplish anything during their “pivotal” in-person meeting?
Monday’s “pivotal” collective bargaining agreement (CBA) meeting, the first in-person bargaining session since October to include players, was not quite much ado about nothing, but initial reporting suggests that the WNBA and WNBPA exited the 3-hour confab not substantially closer to reaching a deal. After the meeting, WNBPA president Nneka Ogwumike and vice president Alysha […]
Alyssa Thomas keeps Laces in first place at Unrivaled, while Sonia Citron’s outburst was not enough for Hive
Laces came out roaring and ready to reassert sole (or Solemates’?) claim to first place in the Unrivaled standings on Monday night. Yet, their eventual 67-62 win over Mist would not be as easy as it might have looked early on. Up 15-8 after a defensively-tilted first quarter, Laces maintained a comfortable margin as the […]
AP Top 25 poll discussion: No. 1 UConn, No. 2 UCLA remain dominant as struggling squads face crossroads
Despite a weekend stacked with women’s college basketball action, the outcomes did not dramatically alter the AP Top 25 poll. The top of the poll, in particular, was only solidified due to No. 1 UConn and No. 2 UCLA cruising to dominant wins over ranked opponents. Significant movement was scare. The biggest faller, No. 22 […]
