SB Nation Reacts: Turn off the injury option
As the season is just days away from kicking off, we asked you all for the last time. Your answer? “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are injured beyond measure. It is our availability, not our ability, that most frightens us. Your playing dinged up does […]
Bulls 133, Wolves 116: Holding Their Own
Even though the score of the Minnesota Timberwolves’ final preseason game looks lopsided, there were plenty of good things to build upon from a game where most of the time on the floor was Minnesota backups versus Chicago rotation guys, or what I like to call a “bullpen game.” Here are five things to be […]

Anthony Edwards Declares at 2nd BTA: “We Gon Foul the SH*T Out You”
On Wednesday evening, Anthony Edwards and his team aired the second annual Believe That Awards (BTA) on YouTube. For those of you concerned about the timing, this was prerecorded. Don’t worry, Ant did not leave the Wolves’ only home preseason game against the Detroit Pistons for his award show. For those who are unfamiliar, Ant’s […]
Preseason Preview #5: Wolves at Bulls Game Thread
The Minnesota Timberwolves head to the Windy City to close out their preseason schedule against the Chicago Bulls. After a series of games that showed the awe-inspiring flashes of the starting five’s offense and the tenuous causeway the bench will need to walk to maintain leads, we’re ready for the games to actually matter. Before […]
Really? For Joe Smith?!
CONTINUATION OF THE “WHAT IF” WOLVES SERIES. IN THIS SERIES, I PLAY THE ROLE OF TIMBERWOLVES OVERLORD AND GO BACK IN TIME AND RIGHT SOME OF THE WRONGS OF OUR FAVORITE FRANCHISE. SINCE THIS IS THE TIMBERWOLVES, THERE ARE A LOT OF WRONGS. THIS SERIES MAY GO ON FOREVER. “What If” Wolves Volume 4: Hopefully […]
Pistons 128, Timberwolves 106: Pestering Foes Infiltrate Target Center
Target Center shook off the rust for the Minnesota Timberwolves’ sole home preseason matchup. The first game where Minnesota donned the white rebrand jerseys and the first look fans got to check out the new court. The Detroit Pistons, fresh off their saga with Jalen Duren’s agent, came to town as two opposite-conference foes wound […]
Top 5 Iowa Wolves of All-Time
I am truly excited to see you here. If you clicked on this (on purpose or by accident), then you are officially a Wolves sicko (lupo-phile?), a basketball sicko, or at the very least: my tribe of people. I scoff when I hear Timberwolves fans declare they are “diehard Wolves fans” and try to prove […]
Preseason Preview #5: Wolves vs Pistons Game Thread
We’re almost there, y’all. A mere two preseason games stand between us and the start of the NBA regular season. There have been some great storylines thus far that have made all of these preseason games worth watching, and our Minnesota Timberwolves are getting their identities and rotations firmly established as the team looks to […]
Wolves Fans: What is your greatest fear?
Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NBA. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Timberwolves fans and fans across the country. Everyone who’s watched Coach Carter most likely remembers this moment. Early on in the story, Coach Ken Carter pulls Timo Cruz before he subs in the […]
Timberwolves 122, Knicks 104: Eating in the Garden
The Minnesota Timberwolves were back in action against the reigning champion New York Knicks tonight in Madison Square Garden, where the Wolves tried to show they could keep up with the team that some are even picking to repeat. Minnesota was without two assumed rotation players for this game. Jonathan Kuminga and TJ Shannon were […]
Cheryl Reeve Named Exec of the Year, but Should Be Person of the Year
The 2026 Minnesota Lynx season may have been buried a while ago, but they got another nice piece of news in their mailbox before the WNBA Finals begins. For those of you unfamiliar with her game, Reeve is not only arguably the greatest basketball coach of all-time, but she also wears the hat of uber […]
Minnesota Timberwolves Bench: Report Card Preview
Last week I chose roles and a grading curriculum for the Minnesota starting group. Today, it’s the bench’s turn. Before diving into the individual players, I want to introduce one other stat that will be part of this season-long project: Estimated Plus/Minus (EPM). You can read about the nitty gritty of EPM here, but I’d […]
Preseason Preview #4: Wolves at Knicks Game Thread
Fresh off their one-point victory over the Miami Heat in which no starters from either team saw the court, the Minnesota Timberwolves are back in action on Monday. In their most important and telling game of the preseason, the Wolves head to the Big Apple to take on the defending champions Game Info: What to […]
Canis Pulsus Vol. 51 – Season Predictions (‘26-’27)
It’s been a while since we’ve done one of these! Some things have changed here at Canis Hoopus, but the now long-standing tradition of polling our community has not. Does it take me hours to collect responses, write up summaries, and chop up charts to show you the results? Yes. Do a lot of people […]
Wolves 125, Heat 124: Keep Your Secrets!
With the Minnesota Timberwolves and Miami Heat tipping off their regular season against one another in just eleven days, Chris Finch and Erik Spoelstra decided that revealing their cards by playing their main rotation players was too big of a risk. So instead of Anthony Edwards and LaMelo Ball vs Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo, […]
Preseason Preview #3: Wolves at Heat
The preseason continues on Saturday in full swing with a preview of the regular season opener. The Timberwolves will look to continue their good vibes from training camp and gain the meaningless “upper hand” against the Miami Heat before the rematch kicks off the 2026-27 regular season. Game Info Precursor to game #1 It seems […]
Feel Good Friday: Wonderous Wolves
We’re two games deep into preseason and that’s enough for us fans to be feeling good this Friday! Don’t believe me? Hear it from the voice of the Timberwolves, Alan Horton. Will it get frustrating to watch LaMelo Ball and Anthony Edwards host their own personal three-point contest every game? Sure. But will it be […]
The Old Guard Is Gone. Who Leads This Timberwolves Team?
The leaves are changing and the temperatures are getting brisk which means one thing. A new Minnesota Timberwolves season is upon us. Just like past seasons tied to the Chris Finch Era, this one is similar in the fact that it doesn’t look similar to past rosters. Finch welcomes that challenge time and time again. […]
Pacers 123, Timberwolves 112: New-Look Offense Won’t Be Ignored Even in Loss
The Minnesota Timberwolves played a special game against the Indiana Pacers at the Hilton Coliseum on the Iowa State campus as former Cyclone Tyrese Haliburton got his first game action in over 600 days. He addressed the crowd before tip-off, leaving a buzz circulating through the arena. Many were excited to see Hali’s first action […]
Preseason Preview #2: Wolves “host” Pacers Game Thread
After drubbing the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday, the Wolves are back in action on Wednesday to take on the Indiana Pacers. One game in and I’m already happy to never have to look at the Timberwolves in their 1920’s Bathing Suit jerseys ever again. See below, Andrew Wiggins looking more like he’s playing in a […]
Timberwolves 116, Bucks 97: Basketball is Back, Baby!
Folks, you know the movie The Polar Express? The silver bells are ringing, and even though I doubted the summer would ever end, I can hear the sleigh arriving. The good news? Basketball is back. The bad news? Tonight can barely be considered basketball. Both the Minnesota Timberwolves and Milwaukee Bucks were, at best, rusty. […]

Preseason Preview #1: Wolves at Bucks Game Thread
We made it folks. It’s been 144 days since the last time we saw the Minnesota Timberwolves play basketball. A lot has happened in the past four months. New faces. New threads. New voices. The Official Doggelgangers of the 2026-27 Minnesota Timberwolves
We are 17 days away from the Wolves finally lacing up and hitting the court for real, so I thought what better way to put a tidy bow on an especially eventful offseason this year than by presenting you my official Wolves doggelgangers list! I must say, it took me an incredible amount of restraint […]
