Film study: New Bears UDFA Jayden Loving brings speed to interior DL
The Bears were surprisingly quiet attacking the defensive line with their approach to the 2026 NFL Draft, but they added an intriguing athlete at defensive tackle in Wake Forest’s Jayden Loving. After starting off his collegiate career at Bethune-Cookman, Loving spent 2023 and 2024 at Western Kentucky before transferring to Wake Forest for his final […]
Film study: New Bears UDFA Jaren Kump brings plenty of OL versatility
After the end of the 2026 NFL Draft, one of the most notable undrafted free agents the Bears signed was Utah center Jaren Kump. A six-year senior at Utah, Kump played a career 2,842 blocking snaps for the Utes. Though he played primarily as a center at the collegiate level, he has also taken snaps […]
Film study: New Bears UDFA Caden Barnett a nasty, explosive guard
Of the Bears’ undrafted free agent signings, the highest-rated on my board is Wyoming offensive lineman Cade Barnett. A three-year starter at Wyoming, Barnett spent 2023 and 2024 as the Cowboys’ starting right tackle. In 2025, he kicked inside to right guard and earned all-conference recognition for his performance. He was a wrestler in high […]

Nobody wins the offseason, supposedly, but let’s be honest. The NFL is won and lost twelve months out of each year. Here are some premature winners and losers from the 2026 Draft, both for Chicago and beyond. Winner: The new draft format Giving teams less time to deal and to make selections did not negatively […]
Chicago Bears 2026 Draft Class Grades Roundup
Hello, Chicago Bears fans! Well, the 2026 NFL Draft is in the books, and the Chicago Bears made a number of interesting selections across the three days and seven rounds of the draft. Shockingly, despite defensive line being perhaps their most significant need going into the draft, the Bears didn’t select a defensive lineman until […]
Film study: New Bears DT Jordan van den Berg a raw physical specimen
With the No. 213 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears selected Georgia Tech defensive tackle Jordan van den Berg. The Bears waited much longer than many expected to take their first (and only) defensive lineman in the 2026 NFL Draft. However, they aimed high with physical upside, taking an interior defender with […]
Film study: New Bears LB Keyshaun Elliott physical with blitz value
With the No. 166 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears selected Arizona State linebacker Keyshaun Elliottz Originally starting his collegiate career at New Mexico State, Elliott was an impact linebacker as a sophomore in 2023. He transferred to Arizona State in 2024, serving as a reliable contributor on defense during his final […]
Film study: New CB Malik Muhammad a potential starter in Round 4
With the No. 124 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears selected Texas cornerback Malik Muhammad. After a surprising offensive-heavy approach on Day 2 in the draft, the Bears circled back towards the defensive side of the ball with their fourth-round pick in Muhammad. A top-100 player on my board, the Longhorns star […]

Bears NFL Draft 2026: Chicago selects Jordan van den Berg, Georgia Tech, DT
The Chicago Bears have sent both their seventh-round picks (239 and 241) to the Buffalo Bills for pick number 213 in the sixth round, and they finally took a defensive lineman. NFL Draft: Bears and Bills make a deal
Chicago moved up to the end of the sixth round by sending both #239 and #241 to the Buffalo Bills in exchange for pick #213. This trade showed once again that the last day of the 2026 NFL Draft isn’t going to follow conventional wisdom, but it could just mean that Brandon Beane continues not […]

NFL Draft: Day 3 Trades Go Off-script
Trades on the third day of the 2027 NFL Draft were frequent but still irregular, with a lot of unconventional values being assigned. The Jaguars moved up to gain an edge defender, paying 105% book value to move from 124 to 119 by sending pick 166 and only getting back pick 196. This continued a […]
Bears NFL Draft 2026: Chicago selects Malik Muhammad, Cornerback, Texas
With their first pick on Day 3 of the 2026 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears have selected Malik Muhammad, a cornerback from the Texas Longhorns at 124 overall, after a trade up with the Carolina Panthers. The Bears sent picks 129 and 144 to Carolina for 124 and 166. Muhammad (6’, 189) has started 27 games the last […]
NFL Draft: Chicago trades with Panthers (again)
This trade isn’t quite as dynamic as the more famous trade Chicago made with Carolina, but the Bears did trade with the Panthers, allowing Carolina to shuffle down a second time after a move with the Las Vegas Raiders. They gave up #129 and #144 to get #124, receiving #166 in return. This was a […]
Joe Thuney trade results: Bears’ 2025 swap wraps up at 2026 NFL Draft
The Chicago Bears had quite the 2025 season, improving from 5-12 to 11-6 to become the NFC North champions and beat the Green Bay Packers in the playoffs. While the end was crushing, it was a huge stepping stone for the future for the Bears, who made a number of key moves to rebuild the […]
New Bears Center Logan Jones Gets Free Ketchup, Giardiniera For Life
The Chicago Bears selected Iowa Hawkeyes center Logan Jones with the number 57 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. That pick came with a special caveat. For being pick “57,” Heinz 57 has awarded Jones a lifetime supply of free ketchup, as well as a special red jacket. One problem. Jones is headed to […]

2026 Bears mock draft: Making Day 3 picks after first three rounds
The first three rounds of the 2026 NFL Draft have c0me and gone. To say that they have not gone the way that Bears fans anticipated would be an understatement. With each of Chicago’s three selections on Day 2 of the draft, general manager Ryan Poles made all of his picks on the offensive side […]
2026 Chicago Bears Draft: Best players available for Day 3
The Chicago Bears have had a very surprising draft thus far. On Thursday, they had a player fall into their lap at 25, and we all rejoiced! But then yesterday, they seemed to reach for three players ahead of the consensus, none of whom played defense. A center, tight end, and wide receiver seemed more […]
The Bear’s Den, April 25, 2026
THE DAILY SPONGIE SPECIAL BEARSSSSSS First-rounder Dillon needs to be a thrillin’ fill-in Kid can play Bears’ first three picks in NFL Draft — Nos. 25, 57 and 69 — show no urgency to attack biggest needs I guess Poles really is into best rated player on their board, as he claims. Film study: New Bears WR Zavion Thomas a pure speed threat
With the No. 89 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears selected LSU wide receiver Zavion Thomas. The Bears needed depth at the wide receiver position going into the draft. Teams usually carry six wide receivers on their 53-man roster, and their WR5 and WR6 were J.P. Richardson and Maurice Alexander, respectively. Thomas […]
Film study: New Bears TE Sam Roush an effective run blocker with athletic upside
With the No. 69 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears selected Stanford tight end Sam Roush. The selection of a tight end within the first three rounds of the NFL Draft was a massive surprise, considering the Bears’ current tandem of Colston Loveland and Cole Kmet. However, they utilized last year’s third-string […]
